Make trades? Nearly half the rotation is built upon 2-way players and guys that were out of the league. Martin, Strus, Vincent, Dedmon or O.Robinson and of course the 90 million dollar 2-way player with only 1 strength who is currently out or adding a needed center who was out of the league (Dedmon). PLEASE, CALL OUT THE FO FOR THE LACK OF TALENT ON THIS ROSTER!!!!! The same FO who made Wade leave (which actually worked out since he recruited Butler to Miami) and limited the roster after making the finals for the failed 2021 plan that netted them...Lowry. It's up to the FO what talent is on this roster and they've decided that getting 2-way players to play rotation minutes and not adding a 15th man to the roster (to just develop) while the 14th man is a 40 year old mascot is the way to go. The FO really needs to be called out way more then Spoelstra. When people bitch about a 2-way player (O.Robinson) needing to play over a non rotation player(Dedmon) THAT IS ON THE FO FOR THE PISS POOR TALENT WHERE THAT'S EVEN A LEGIT OPTION.
Man you are so spot on with this. The front office has been a compete chit show. Small ball this year has been a complete abomination. They went back to what didn't work in the first place which was to go back to being smaller at the 4. They had solved the mistakes with Crowder and PJ only to see them walk after the year and completely revert back to when they tried Iguodala, Harkless, DJJ, Ariza, and now it's Martin and Strus at the 4. Absolute and utter insanity.
Crowder walked because they refused to give him a 3-year deal since that messed up the 2021 plan (which made them overpay on Lowry to not completely strike out on the 2021 plan). Come on, 10 mil a year for a starting level PF that helped you get to the finals is a good contract even if he's only got 3-5 solid years left in him at that point.
Last year, running out a 36-year-old PF with NO real backup was pretty stupid and may have cost Miami another finals run since surprisingly Tucker broke down. Had they thrown a 1st to get someone like Rui or PJ Washington they may have had more success last year AND would be a much better balanced team this year and probably been in the running for another 1 or 2 rounds having home court advantage, as it is now they may be out again in the 1st round.
What I just don't get about this franchise/FO, they can develop players and Spoelstra seems to know how to get the most out of limited players, so why not go out and get high potential guys who aren't working out in their 1st or 2nd stops? I get they need to have a working hard mindset but there has to be acquirable players vs guys nobody else will give non-2-way contracts to.
