Still too early to say. But many scouts are still not sure how to evaluate the draft after Wemby and Scoot. There is still a lot of basketball to be played though so it's hard to say whether or not this draft is stacked. We know it's got two elite prospects at the top. That's the only thing we know at this point.
The best way to answer that question is to Tier up. How you name the tier doesn't matter as much as classifying it into different levels. Here's a sample Tier system
Tier 1 (MVP Caliber/ Superstar)
Tier 2 (All NBA / Perennial All-Star)
Tier 3 (All Star)
Tier 4 (Lotto Talent / High level Role Player/ 3rd - 4th best player on a team)
Tier 5 (Starter)
Tier 6 (Rotation player / Role Player)
Tier 7 (Rest in the NBA)
The players after 1 are fluid and not very defined but that always happens. Looking at the number of players though, this year roughly.
2023
T1 - 2, T2 - 2, T3 - 4, T4 - 5, T6 - 10 -20
2022
T1 - 0, T2 - 2, T3 - 3, T4 -
2021
T1 - 0, T2 - 3, T3 -1, T4 - 2
Not motivated to do more but it's obvious that 2021 was a bad draft year by tier. 2022 was better. This year though is special.
Note: 2020 not much better than 2021 with Edwards, Wiseman, Bell, Williams and Okoro. None of those guys are making all-star teams. One of the best from that draft is Bane.
