BUT
You watch this footage and tell me this isn't the kind of guy we could really use coming off the bench as a wing with some size, strength who can take you off the dribble, shoot it from deep, have some athleticism, play some D and plays with a toughness/edge to him..makes some good passes in this video too and even has a smooth floater.
Shooting 40% from 3 on 3 attempts per game.
6'6", 230 lbs. 6'11" wingspan with a 41" vertical leap.
A guy to watch out for as a potential 2nd rounder..
Cool will take a look.
Tankathon has Jaylen Clark from UCLA going at 38 where Boston now sits. Haven’t followed him but looking briefly he reminds me so much of Jordan Adams from a few years back who I was convinced was an amazing sleeper lol. Missed on that one and totally forgot how 100% sure I was he was under rated.
I like Jaylen Clark. Biggest thing with him is 2 things:
1) VERY quick. Some guys who are prospects, you're not sure if they will be quick enough to keep up with the faster pace in the NBA. I have zero concerns about that with Clark. For players who are 6'5" or taller, he's probably as quick as any of them in this draft (besides the Thompson twins, of course).
He uses that quickness for good. Unlike Nesmith who would run through a wall and go crazy hard that you're worried he's gonna hurt someone - and as a result, he would make mistakes on both ends of the floor cause he was so wild. Clark, I think goes fast and with high motor, while staying under control better
2) Crazy good steal %. Simply put, he's a ball hawk.
Offensively, he's a ;little limited. Decent at attacking closeouts, decent shooter (34%), ok passer, ok handles.
I'd give him a shot in the mid to late 2nd round and bank on his work ethic + Ben Sullivan's coaching to bring that 3 pt % up a little bit. Then he could have a solid career as a role player wing with high energy who can make plays on both ends of the floor.
There is a bit of overlap with him and Begarin, though..
