He missed 3 shots in the 2nd half...he just didn't shoot much.

This was Embiid's biggest game of the season (like the All-Star game last year where he went out to chase an accolade)...for Jokic this was just another game - he shot 12x (lower than average), Embiid shot 31 shots (he has shot 30+ FOUR TIMES in his career...). He cared a LOT about the game, Jokic dgaf lol.

idk what you are trying to say but what you ended up saying is Jokic didn't care about winning?

Why doesnt he care? Seems important when youre paid a quarter of a billion dollars to win

It's just a regular season game to him. No more important than a game vs. the Spurs, for example.

For Embiid, this was the game he gets up for, puts up almost a career high in FGA. He's pissed off about not winning MVP, about not being an All-Star starter, etc.

Jokic does care about this game, just as much as he cares about the other 82...not more, not less.

Embiid...this was the one he WANTED. He wouldn't have shot 31x if he didn't.

What I mean when I say "Jokic dgaf" is he doesn't care about putting up the #'s himself. There was a few occasions tonight when he could have taken a shot that he had 70-80% chance of making, but passed it up for the 95% chance layup - for example when he spun past Embiid, Harden was waiting in paint he could have taken a ~75% shot (based on this season's sample of Jokic at that range) right over Harden from a few feet out but passed it off to a cutter for a free layup.

Luka is the MVP, he work with the least . Embiid as great as he is , he's playing alongside an all star player and the former mvp of the league. If Dallas is in the play off's comes end of the season, its his award. I never had Jokic as the front runner this season and todays game might decreases his chances unless Embiid plays in Denver and Jokic dominates that match up in March, he might be in the mix then again. I think voters get swayed by certain games in the season and today's game was one of those. Embiid stock is up but Luka will make much better case for himself at the end of the season.

Jokic stan in shambles , holding hard to advanced metrics, while Chad Embiid clowns the sad Joker  and shows whos the Man.

Steph that guy that couldn’t lead his team to playoffs with Wiggins and Draymond, right?

I'm looking at it from an objective point of view - pure "historical precedent"...

This game was Embiid's 4th most FGA ever.

For Jokic he probably had 300 games with more FGA lol.

One person cared a little more about this game...now if they face up in the playoffs, we will see if Embiid hides and begs Tucker to guard Jokic, or if he mans up. Jokic, who is a worse defender than Embiid (fact), did not hide behind teammates. He was ready to play 1 on 1 on both sides of the ball. Embiid didn't want it on the defensive end.

Jokic wont lose any sleep tonight onto the next game . Still has the better team record than Embiid , playing without an all star teammate and he will wait for Embiid in March but we all know Embiid is scared to play in Denver :D

I don't think it is inconsistent to say both players cared about the game, Embiid dominated and won the matchup, but jokic has been the better player all year. If they played tomorrow and Nuggets win with Embiid scoring an inefficient 20 points, do we continuously pass the crown of best player in the world around on a daily basis based on how jacked a certain player is each game?

People have short memories and are prisoners of the moment. Kind of caps off how the MVP was decided last year.

He will exit it empty handed again at the end of the season. Jokic gave him one so he could feel good about himself since he always cry's and whine's, Jokic is charitable dude :D

So charitable he just gives away wins and takes the losses. Sounds like a no chip having scrub.

He has already enough wins so far in the season. Embiid is consistently crying so Jokic played at his 50% today , lets other fella have some joy in his life :)

Jokic took 26 shots against Hornets. I guess he cares them a LOT and that must be his biggest game of the season ... :D

That won’t happen next time they meet in Denver. Watch Jokic cook PJ. One thing Jokic does well is adjust. He has a high basketball IQ. He will cook PJ next game.

The problem is Jokic will be stuck playing both ends in the next matchup while Embiid will continue to shift responsibility over to Tucker on defense. You saw Jokic lock Embiid down in the 1st half and you saw Embiid recover his energy when he no longer had to play defense and that's when he started cooking.

Jokic needs a Tucker otherwise he's not going to be able to compete in the individual matchups when he has to exert energy on both ends.

#StillTheMVP obviously

Great we will take Aaron Gorden for PJ Tuker then. Where do I sign da paper ?

I will cry when Embiid wins any trophy in his basketball career, and we know that will never happen.
