Bulls biggest mistake was the Vuc trade.

I get the impression the pels could.

They chose no point guard over resigning ball to a reasonable contract.

Another reason why it would be a big mistake to go after Purtle.

Vuc is a liability because he can't play defense.

I've been watching them too. All these losses might make them desperate after getting all the early season hype. It would be very foolish of them to think that way but we can only hope.

They might even add a valuable pick of the Lakers in the Daniels/Hayes/Graham for Fred package I've been hoping for lol.

People keep proposing OG trades to the Pelicans, but what they really need is a vet point guard to lead them into the playoffs. Fred for Dyson and salary filler.

Exactly... they already have a bunch of OGs but don't have a PG.

You aren't getting the Lakers pick for half a season of Fred.

no trade of fred or trent is for 'half a season'. its to get their bird rights. it is assumed these players will have agreed to remain with these teams in the offseason.

Interesting to speculate that might have been why the Kyle to Sixers deal fell through. Kyle (through his agent, of course) wouldn't give Morey that assurance that he would re-sign in the summer, so Morey refused to give up Maxey and/or draft capital for a pure rental. Of course, the teams couldn't admit that they were violating league policy, so we just hear a confused jumble of explanations for what happened.

Worked out for us just fine.

Pels in slump does not help Raps because they might just stand pat and not explore any trades if they are in the play-in range before Zion comes back

also that kyle let it be known around that time thru his agent that he wanted 30M per year which morey probably didn't want lol. once morey left the negotiating table, riley didn't have a reason to stay either.

Just get it top 2 protected.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

If we don't get any good enough offers for the core players and aren't tanking and Vucevic has turned down a Bulls extension, I kinda like this:

Bulls - Plumlee, Boucher
Raptors - Vucevic
Charlotte - Thad, Raptors 2nd rounder,

Bulls shore up their big spots and keep their MLE open for a wing or young center. Hornets now have 4 top 45 picks and cap space to take on a bad deal to try to move up on draft day to get some draftees they target, we get an actual center and hope his market is basically lots of MLE offers and we can keep him for say 28M over 2 years and he produces playing 24 minutes a night with Koloko getting about 10 and Precious getting 14 at center and 14 at PF.

Vucevic24-Precious14-Koloko10
Siakam34-Precious14
Barnes34-OG14
OG20-Trent28
VanVleet32-2023 pick16

It's not exciting, but it's probably a playoff team and with a long-term 3rd guard or starting PG now drafted.

But maybe the better question here is would Vucevic take the MLE from us this summer. I could also see something like Vucevic, Trent and Thad to the Lakers, Westbrook and an unprotected Lakers first to us, Boucher and Birch and Max Christie to Chicago.
Where's the D?
