If theres anyone that woulda made sense it was Myles Turner. He was the get over Ayton and Poeltl. Having another great season and does it on both ends. I know he can still be traded but Indy is going to want a haul for him with new contract. Dont see it now.

he's basically what we want Precious to become.

utterly frustrating to watch the rebuild/retooling phase of this team tbh.

Update

16 games until trade deadline including last night vs Charlotte. I guessed our record. I will update after each game.

(17-23)

Jan 10 - Charlotte - W (18-23)
Jan 12 - Charlotte - W (19-23)
Jan 14 - Atlanta - W .... Loss (19-24)
Jan 16 - @ NY - L .... Win (20-24)
Jan 17 - @ Milwaukee - L (20-25)
Jan 19 - @ Minnesota - L (20-26)
Jan 21 - Boston - L (20-27)
Jan 22 - NY - W (21-27)
Jan 25 - @ Sacramento - L ... Win (22-27)
Jan 27 - @ G.S. - L (22-28)
Jan 28 - @ Portland - L …. Win (23-28)
Jan 30 - @ Phoenix - L (23-29)

Feb 1 - @ Utah - W
Feb 3 - @ Houston - W
Feb 5 - @ Memphis - L
Feb 8 - San Antonio - W

Feb 9 = Trade Deadline.

7-9 record as per above (24-32). But lets say we get 2 extra wins and go 9-7 instead, we would be (26-30).

To put things in perspective on Feb 9 of last year (deadline was Feb 10), our record was 30-23.

It's not the full quote. They said the Clippers wouldn't trade a 1st for Conley but would for FVV.

Package is Mann + 2028 1st + Covington + salary. We can probably flip Covington for a protected 1st or something. I'm not in love with that package, but if we're not re-signing him or we think Orlando is a big enough threat to throw money we're uncomfortable with at FVV, it's something. I'm a fan of Mann.

If we are serious about trading FVV, I really hope Orlando's interest is genuine. We should be able to play the Clippers interest to get a package out of Orlando.

How much would it cost to dump Birch or OPJ? If three 1sts is too big of an ask for OG, can we attach OPJ or Birch, even all of them and send them out instead of getting that 3rd pick?

Would it do anything for the Raps if we create that space?

Fk that. I would insist norm + unconditional 1st for Fred.

Shams said Suns are interested in OG, and Masai and James Jones were seen together at the Raps/Suns game.

There’s some speculation that it was based on Cam Johnson + 2 1sts, but I think there’s an alternate angle here, with Ayton going to the Raps and Crowder going to the Bucks.

Here’s the deal:

Suns in: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher, Serge Ibaka, George Hill, MIL ‘24 2nd
Suns out: DeAndre Ayton, Jae Crowder, [salary]

Raps in: DeAndre Ayton, Jordan Nwora, POR ‘24 2nd
Raps out: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher

Bucks in: Jae Crowder, [PHO salary]
Bucks out: George Hill, Jordan Nwora, Serge Ibaka, 2 ‘24 2nds

The Bucks get their guy in Crawford. The Raps get their starting Center. And the Suns move on from some recent troubled guys to a refreshed roster, with 2 of the deadliest defenders in the NBA:

Chris Paul / Cam Payne / George Hill
Devin Booker / Gary Trent / Landry Shamet
Mikal Bridges / Cam Johnson / Torrey Craig
OG Anunoby / Chris Boucher / Dario Saric
Biz Biyombo / Serge Ibaka / (Boucher + Saric)

I love this so much for the Suns. They also get a Chris Paul playoff insurance policy in George Hill, and an instant 6th man in Gary Trent. Their owner has said he’s willing to pay out, which would indicate a willingness to re-up Trent this summer. Their centers would rotate based on matchups.

A duo of Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby would instantly become the best defensive forward duo in the NBA, and likely one of the best in the NBA in a long time. To find such an imposing defensive duo, we’d have to go back to Detroit (Ben Wallace + Rasheed Wallace) or Spurs (David Robinson + Tim Duncan) to find as strong of a defensive front court.
In both cases, these teams won the NBA championship.

If Phoenix wants to go all in with CP3+Book, the move is to go all in with Anunoby.

For the Raps, we would also move FVV, and do a quick retool with a top 5 pick next year. Plus Siakam and Ayton are young enough that they can still work for the next half decade.

Assume Fred fetches the rumored Mann + ‘28 1st + 2nd (gained by rerouting whatever we get from LAC). This is what we get:

Scottie Barnes
Terence Mann / Jordan Nwora
Pascal Siakam
Precious Achiuwa
DeAndre Ayton / Christian Koloko

+ all of our picks including a top 5 ‘23 pick, extra 2nds in ‘23 and ‘24, and an extra ‘28 1st.

If we can get a high end playmaking shooter in the draft, this team will be set.

I would stop watching basketball if we traded OG and Gary for a maxed Ayton. Honestly makes me scared of the 9th now.

I don't know about space. Neither of their contracts is that bad. They'll be $13M expiring next year combined. That shouldn't be hard to move.

Was just about to post this. Ayton for OG confirmed lol.

I don't see phoenix being interested in OG

We'd be very interested in OG. I would prefer him to FVV as we can make do at PG once Cam Payne comes back and find a suitable CP3 understudy in the off season. For much cheaper than what Fred will cost. How do you guys feel about Cam Johnson and 2 FRPs...?

I don't like it. 2 late 1st round picks and a guy you'll have to pay this off season who is hurt just as much as OG. Who isn't even young.

I would hope to get a young guy with really big upside over bad picks and an ok player.

Give me Sharpe or Daniels from the Pelicans instead with a pick or two.

I don't see OG getting moved at the deadline for that type of offer. Maybe in the off season if he doesn't want to negotiate a new contract.

This would be my wet dream..

TOR trades: Siakam, GTJ, 2024 1st
CLE Trades: Evan Mobley + matching salaries

TOR Trades: OG Anouoby
POR Trades: Shaedon Sharpe +2023 1st + additional 1st

TOR Trades: FVV, additional asset if needed
NO Trades: Trey Murphy + matching Salary

with the top 5-6 odds in 2023 draft lottery we luck out with 1st overall pick.

2024-2025 Season

C- Wembyama
PF - Mobley
SF - Murphy
SG - Sharpe
PG - Barnes

:o :o :o

Dare to dream!

Even a couple of those moves would be nice for the re-build

there's no room for any sentiments. this is the business, and its been now 4 years nearly. i would do a Kennard/Mann/'28 FRP for FVV trade.

It's not about being sentimental, it's about getting the best return for an asset and I'm not convinced the Clips potential return has the best upside to improve the team, simple as that.

Not helping the Clips try to win the title. There are better options.

It sends a bad message about our franchise if they're just allowed to come into our house and stalk our players.

Board man should have just stayed.
