he's basically what we want Precious to become.
utterly frustrating to watch the rebuild/retooling phase of this team tbh.![]()
16 games until trade deadline including last night vs Charlotte. I guessed our record. I will update after each game.
(17-23)
Jan 10 - Charlotte - W (18-23)
Jan 12 - Charlotte - W (19-23)
Jan 14 - Atlanta - W .... Loss (19-24)
Jan 16 - @ NY - L .... Win (20-24)
Jan 17 - @ Milwaukee - L (20-25)
Jan 19 - @ Minnesota - L (20-26)
Jan 21 - Boston - L (20-27)
Jan 22 - NY - W (21-27)
Jan 25 - @ Sacramento - L ... Win (22-27)
Jan 27 - @ G.S. - L (22-28)
Jan 28 - @ Portland - L …. Win (23-28)
Jan 30 - @ Phoenix - L (23-29)
Feb 1 - @ Utah - W
Feb 3 - @ Houston - W
Feb 5 - @ Memphis - L
Feb 8 - San Antonio - W
Feb 9 = Trade Deadline.
7-9 record as per above (24-32). But lets say we get 2 extra wins and go 9-7 instead, we would be (26-30).
To put things in perspective on Feb 9 of last year (deadline was Feb 10), our record was 30-23.

It's not the full quote. They said the Clippers wouldn't trade a 1st for Conley but would for FVV.
Package is Mann + 2018 1st + Covington + salary. We can probably flip Covington for a protected 1st or something. I'm not in love with that package, but if we're not re-signing him or we think Orlando is a big enough threat to throw money we're uncomfortable with at FVV, it's something. I'm a fan of Mann.
If we are serious about trading FVV, I really hope Orlando's interest is genuine. We should be able to play the Clippers interest to get a package out of Orlando.
Masai’s Rebuilt Raptors
MessiahUjiri wrote:Shams said Suns are interested in OG, and Masai and James Jones were seen together at the Raps/Suns game.
There’s some speculation that it was based on Cam Johnson + 2 1sts, but I think there’s an alternate angle here, with Ayton going to the Raps and Crowder going to the Bucks.
Here’s the deal:
Suns in: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher, Serge Ibaka, George Hill, MIL ‘24 2nd
Suns out: DeAndre Ayton, Jae Crowder, [salary]
Raps in: DeAndre Ayton, Jordan Nwora, POR ‘24 2nd
Raps out: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher
Bucks in: Jae Crowder, [PHO salary]
Bucks out: George Hill, Jordan Nwora, Serge Ibaka, 2 ‘24 2nds
The Bucks get their guy in Crawford. The Raps get their starting Center. And the Suns move on from some recent troubled guys to a refreshed roster, with 2 of the deadliest defenders in the NBA:
Chris Paul / Cam Payne / George Hill
Devin Booker / Gary Trent / Landry Shamet
Mikal Bridges / Cam Johnson / Torrey Craig
OG Anunoby / Chris Boucher / Dario Saric
Biz Biyombo / Serge Ibaka / (Boucher + Saric)
I love this so much for the Suns. They also get a Chris Paul playoff insurance policy in George Hill, and an instant 6th man in Gary Trent. Their owner has said he’s willing to pay out, which would indicate a willingness to re-up Trent this summer. Their centers would rotate based on matchups.
A duo of Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby would instantly become the best defensive forward duo in the NBA, and likely one of the best in the NBA in a long time. To find such an imposing defensive duo, we’d have to go back to Detroit (Ben Wallace + Rasheed Wallace) or Spurs (David Robinson + Tim Duncan) to find as strong of a defensive front court.
In both cases, these teams won the NBA championship.
If Phoenix wants to go all in with CP3+Book, the move is to go all in with Anunoby.
For the Raps, we would also move FVV, and do a quick retool with a top 5 pick next year. Plus Siakam and Ayton are young enough that they can still work for the next half decade.
Assume Fred fetches the rumored Mann + ‘28 1st + 2nd (gained by rerouting whatever we get from LAC). This is what we get:
Scottie Barnes
Terence Mann / Jordan Nwora
Pascal Siakam
Precious Achiuwa
DeAndre Ayton / Christian Koloko
+ all of our picks including a top 5 ‘23 pick, extra 2nds in ‘23 and ‘24, and an extra ‘28 1st.
If we can get a high end playmaking shooter in the draft, this team will be set.

Would it do anything for the Raps if we create that space?

We'd be very interested in OG. I would prefer him to FVV as we can make do at PG once Cam Payne comes back and find a suitable CP3 understudy in the off season. For much cheaper than what Fred will cost. How do you guys feel about Cam Johnson and 2 FRPs...?

there's no room for any sentiments. this is the business, and its been now 4 years nearly. i would do a Kennard/Mann/'28 FRP for FVV trade.
