Him and Luka will never work personality wise. They have no chance of serious contention in the West.

Might have missed replies to this, but I agree-- as a fan of Luka, I'm skeptical of this trade working out for DAL.
Like LeBron, a generationally-talented passer like Doncic should have length, cutters, shooters and defenders around him, not an undersized combo guard who dominates the ball and only checks one of those boxes.
Kyrie as a backup to Luka should be great for them, but that's only ~12mpg. The other ~25mpg KI plays alongside Doncic could be pretty awkward for DAL.

Probably the second best wing defender in the league behind Bridges in Phoenix. Perfect type of defender to put on Tatum, Brown.
I watched their last game as a Mav against the Warriors last night and he looks really, really good defensively.
Idk if it’s bitterness or what but some of the Mavs fans don’t think much of his defensemavsfanarkuo wrote:The drop off in defense is overblown. DFS has faced Kawhi in two playoff series and has made Andrew Wiggins revive his career last year. He didnt make a dent.
So if it was a choice between Kyrie and DFS locking someone up, I'd take the All NBA talent 10 times out of 10.

He’s not a DPOY candidate unlike Claxton but he’s joining one of the best shot blocking and three point defensive teams in the league. He’s going to fit in extremely well. No way around it.

yea he might not be a lockdown defender but he can be at least as good as O'neale. And we switch everything in this system so it shouldn't be any liabilities. I'm more concerned with his 3 pt shooting.

Yes, Kevin O'Connor from the ringer had this in his Kyrie trade article.
He also thinks the Mavs offer was better and I agree.
