If Orlando is willing to give up Suggs, I wonder if we could turn this into a 3-way deal and fetch a younger player that Masai likes more.
BTW, for Masai critics, remember that we could have Suggs instead of Barnes right now. Don't forget, Suggs was a near universal consensus top 4 pick.
A few things:
- just because a team drafts player b over player a, doesn't mean they don't like player a. You only get 1 chance and in a draft, you bet on the development of certain skills to propel a prospect to be their best version. Sometimes you get it wrong, sometimes you get it half right.
- there was a rumor at the 2021 draft that your GM was trying to entice Orlando to trade up from 5. With all mocks pointing to Orlando taking Scottie at 5, why let a team trade up 1 spot if there's a risk they take a player you want? I think it may have been because they rated Scottie & Suggs (or maybe another player) pretty equally.
- if a team drafts player b over player a, it doesn't mean the team will stop watching player a or avoid ever bringing him into the organization.
- I think Suggs would be an amazing fit next to Scottie. AMAZING.
- Orl has no desire to trade Suggs. They LOVE him and what he brings. Lots of good years ahead of him. If you want him, price is high.
- if the rumored interest in FVV is true, it's to ADD him to Fultz/Suggs rotation. The odd man out is Cole. No idea if the interest is real or if Orl is being used as leverage because of the cap space availability.
