KOA wrote:Love the move! I said it in the trade thread awhile back that if OG is too costly Hart should be the go-to.

He is a better rebounder and passer than OG and can even hold his own on the defensive end. Great team player. He only 2 years older than OG and a lot more durable.

I expect him to come off the bench where he’d provide some much needed rebounding, playmaking and scoring. Just hope he can stay healthy.

Grimes fits better with the starting unit providing more spacing with his 3 ball.

For everyone concerned about minutes, Thibs is going to expand his rotation and reduce some of the starter minutes when he has quality players he can rely on in his bench. He tried doing that initially this year, but it didn’t work out

This post could literally be the whole thread. No further comment required.

What I’ve been begging for RJ to do more of and Randle too, Hart will do. Fill in the gaps and play a good floor game.

The loser in this is IQ b/c he used to close games for Thibs but I could see it being Hart now

Not a chance in hell Knicks would offer 6 picks for a 34 year old Durant with bad knees. That is a franchise future crippling move.

Give up this dream fellas lol

Of course wed have to do it if possible, but the Yankees and Mets dont trade with each other either, and they arent in the same division like us.

Imagine the Nets giving us a potential championship? Nice thought though for sure haha.

that team would arguably be the favorites to win it. your basically admitting that deal would be too good to pass up for brooklyn.

So I proved you wrong! I win! :D

IQ has proven to be a constant defender so depending on if he is hot or grimes you can play either of them at the 2 to close game and the same goes for rj or hart at the 3. or you could go small depending on the match ups. though thibs isn't going to do that.

Not sure how to feel about this. Hart is definitely a solid player, but we traded an asset and our 1st rounder this year to give him bench minutes? And he might just be a rental?

It's been some time I haven't been in realgm, just has to log in after seeing Brunson's first reaction knowing this trade. It was priceless.

And I like how Knicks is doing this season, we are not there yet but it is a good progress so far. Curious to see how Randle and RJ will fare if we get to the playoffs.

Lol as far as I'm concerned, the Knicks acquired talent (Cam) + assets only to give them up for a dang 28yo role player to appease this delusional win-now coach.

Yeah Hart averages 8rpg which is damn good, but he's your role role player, already peaked at 28yo and averaging 9ppg. So to get him we gave up a pick + Cam who's already averaging 8ppg in the piss poor role Thibs gave him, he has lockdown D and unteachable length Hart doesn't have, has a superstar ceiling (22.3ppg on 58FG% whenever he takes 10+ FGA this season), and is only 23yo.

I think Cam already circled 15th March when we face Blazers, he gonna drop 30+ on Thibs. Chauncey (late bloomer himself) is gonna emphatize with him, he's a great kid, gonna give him opportunities, gonna groom him, and Thibs in a lot of ways was the best thing that could happen to Cam, he's gonna seize his next opportunities and achieve superstardom RoboJ, JB (legit All Star but is no the go-to superstar in the playoffs), or Julius (only acts like a winner when he posts numbers, but will be a cancer when he chokes in playoffs) can never reach. Then we'll look back and say we really blew it.

If you wanna be successful, it's simple just do the exact opposite failures do. We've been largely a failure since the turn of the century. I wish we could have done exact opposite the things we'd normally do, e.g. hold onto Cam, and then we might become successful for once.

Y'all already know how I feel. Basically we traded trash and a protected 1st that'll probably end up as 4 seconds for a 10/8/4 guy in Josh Barkley. He's already got the Nova connection with Brunson, and he's a tough player.

He can't shoot, that's an issue (we love guys with no jumper) but outside of that he's amazing. And his defense this year has been extraordinary. IDK how big a role he'll have but I'm ready to see.
