Absolutely no he would not, we've had Mike Conley for several years now.

Who is significantly worse playmaker.

No he's not.

His "playmaking" is done almost entirely outside of the teams offense. That is something statistics/metrics does not tell you, and why you have to watch him play to appreciate just how detrimental he is to a teams flow. He looked better off the bench. In that role you can just give him the ball and be done with it. Deal with the turnovers and driving into no man's land until the starters can get back. His finishing numbers in the paint are horrendous too, leading to quick outs the other way. His playmaking isn't conducive to a winning style of play.

Frankly everything you said can be applied to LeBron.

LeBron is a far better playmaker than WB, there's zero comparison. They're on different extremes when it comes to bball IQ.
And WB's finishing? There's again no comparison but the same can be applied to LeBron huh?
On less than 10ft shots, WB is 50.3%
Giannis 65.5%
LeBron...69.4%
(stats from nba.com)

Conley averaged 7.7apg/1.7tov for us this season, Westbrook is at 7.5apg/3.5tov. Conley has a way higher bball IQ, so he's a much better decision maker, which is why you never see him throw to the third row like Westbrook. Prime Westbrook was something, but Lakers Westbrook is just trash. He misses layups on the regular, which to me makes no sense since he can still fly out of the building.

Honest question...does he owe you money?

There has to be some explanation for all of this.

He has a sub 50% ts. He is terrible defensively. And that’s largely going against bench guys this year.

This talk of “creating for others” is bunk because he’s still taking 14fga and converting at terrible efficiency. No matter how well he’s passing it’s not going to compensate for the damaging combination of shot volume + terrible efficiency. He’d need to dial back his shot attempts by 50% and we all know that ain’t happening,

"Westbrook has expressed a willingness to play for the Jazz."

I am surprised I haven't seen anyone comment on this line. This shows he rather play more minutes/ put up numbers for a bad team than play for a contender. He's still about the empty stats.

t's gonna be Clippers or Heat for Russ.

-tight with Dipo
-no drama BS here
-wants big minutes (he'll get Lowry's minutes for sure)
-Heat is in the playoff race
-Miami weather of course

and the script says he would fit here and turn it around.

Westbrook played fine as a back up, the problem was his play wasn't anywhere near his contract worth.

If Sam Hinkie was still running a team he’d offer Russel a full max and proceed to get back to back first picks in the lottery

Uhm. It just shows he is rare player who honours contracts instead of throwing hissy fit. Also lets be realistic. Even playing for a Jazz he just had a team upgrade over terrible Lakers.

What exactly is he turning around? He has a broken jumpshot that he's not fixing anytime, for a point guard a consistent jumpshot is crucial. He looked horrible in Houston, Washington, LA and well next team he's on he'll be making Shaqtin a Fool highlights again. Maybe he really needs prescription glasses?

Clippers are his best option, its a no brainer. They should also certainly start him. They have enough shooting around him to make it work.

Mental gymnastics some of these people go through if player isn't throwing toys on the wall and talking crap to the media if they aren't instantly traded to the contenders is something else. Sure he probably gets bought out but you as a player don't need to be absolute unprofessional baby about it like some of these NBA divas are.

He better stay with the Jazz since it is a win win for him. If he's good he gets to resuscitate his value and image to GMS, if he's bad the Jazz get what they want and he doesn't get criticized for what he is because small market.
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player
