People wanting big moves in off-season will be disappointed. It will be far easier to move Lowry or Duncan before next year's deadline than off-season.
Also easier to snag upset big fish. But ya never know.
P.s. just wanted to add that my number 1 off season priority is making haslem a GD coach and opening up that roster spot for Jamal Cain or bouyea or whoever else.
If that’s truly the case (I don’t think it is) then blow it up. We can’t sit on our hands until next deadline and win anything significant, it would be a wasted season at that point
Can't look at it like that. Our priorities this off-season will be to keep Dipo and at least one of Gabe/Strus (preferably both but it only takes one team to throw 12-15M per and they're gone). And of course move on from Haslem. Go into the tax.
I just don't realistically see who we could move Lowry to. Things will ofc be more clear in offseason but I just don't see a likely Lowry partner. (we will all dream of Lowry+Duncan and FRP's for Dame but, it's a pipedream)
Moving Lowry before trade deadline makes much more sense. A team might look at him as the missing piece. He will match salaries. If RW making 47M can get moved, Lowry obviously will be far easier to move. And Duncan next year would only have one full year and a partially guarantee after that, and maybe we showcase him a bit and gets thrown into a deal and isn't a complete negative.
Offseason is a time for stars to force themselves off teams / Sign & Trades and a time for teams to make splashy signings (we have no cap space). So that's why I think we will be quiet unless someone demands Miami. The trade deadline just makes far more sense. Teams are like, dang time to move on. Blow it up. Before they lose someone for nothing. And we pounce and have Lowry and Duncan and Caleb and Herro to use in trades and FRP's and Jovic and 2023 rookie (whoever we draft). We will have a very very different basket of assets and far more flexible contracts to match.
If we don't do any big moves in offseason AND the deadline, this forum will explode lmao. But I just don't see any chance the heat do that. We waited this whole year for next year to play at the big boy table with a much better hand.
