I'm not mad at this loss. I thought we looked better. It's tough that we had our 18/20 streak against a very easy schedule and now lost our best players with the toughest schedule coming up. I don't think we need to tank, cause we will lose anyway lol. I think they should try to gel and build something and get playoff atmosphere if possible. This is probably still our core going forward. I don't think they should learn to "intentionally" lose. I don't think it would be the right way to finish a season and it wouldn't help us much anyway.
I don't get the hate in Marks either. What should he have done differently? Bench everyone instead of trading so we don't have any talent, no picks and no trade leverage in the offseason whatsoever? He had one week to pull of the trades. It's clear as **** that you don't assemble a smooth and complete roster within one week after blowing it up lol. What do you expect? I still think we are in a good position. We have talent that other teams want. Damn, we have several wing defenders like for the first time ever. And we have a ton of picks. The problem is, not a lot of teams want to blow it up. We won't ever be able to trade for a guy like Luca, except if he asks for it and none of the big names seem to be close of asking out (let alone ask to be traded to us). Then there might be some allstars we could get and I would try for the right price (lavine, beal, siakam, who knows). But I would not gut the roster for them.
Rationally, with every big move Marks made, I was fine at the time. It turned out that it would not work, but I thought they were reasonable moves (except Nash). I much rather stick with Marks than get another Billy King again. I'm willing to wait until the offseason moves before I hate on him.
Same for JV. After three years of Nash I'm still delighted that he is with the team, even though he just might not be very good
