Wholeheartedly disagree. He’s certainly not Lebron, but he does all of the little things. He boxes out, he makes the right pass, he does all he can on defense. He’ll hit an open three.

Do I mind him getting some DNPs? Nope. But he doesn’t hurt us when he’s in there.

Agreed. Gill in spot minutes is fine. I don't understand him starting over Avdija last night, but whatever, I'm not going to throw a fit about it.

Wes, like a lot of other coaches, likes to have continuity in the rotations. Oftentimes, when a starter is out, they'll start a 3rd stringer (for limited minutes) so that their 2nd stringer is still in his usual role with his usual teammates - only the 2nd stringer will likely log longer minutes than usual. That's basically what happened here. Deni still played 31 minutes.

Giannis took 12 shots and had 13 assists. Beal took 32 shots, probably about 10 or so were awful shots, and had 2 total assists.

Wright/Kispert/Avdija all play winning basketball and make the right play and should’ve been more involved.

Beal plays for his ego, takes selfish shots, deflates the ball, gives zero focus or effort on defense. He thinks he’s a Devin Booker/Donovan Mitchell, but he’s really more of a CJ Mccollum. Ultimately doesn’t help you that much when he gives it all back on defense and doesn’t make anyone better on offense.

Last couple games we’ve seen Beal with probably the worst tunnel vision of the season

And some folks were pining for high-volume Beal, not me. Our "Big Three" think the only way they can be impactful is jacking up a ton of shots. Maybe some of those low usage guys, especially the young ones, would be a bit more comfortable with a bit higher volume if you gave them confidence that they didn't have to given you token passes when you are in terrible scoring positions.

Beal pushes closer to a top 30ish/all star level guy whenever he is more of a low usage off ball player that shoots catch and shoot 3s and locks in on defense. He can be slightly above average on that end and guard 1s, 2s, and some 3s.

I think everyone knows this except for Beal. He still thinks he’s prime D Wade or something. Kuzma thinks he’s Kevin Durant. He probably falls into the “sometimes useful rotation piece” but not even a quality backup.

This team has gone on a decent run before the ASB primarily because of Wright and Porzingis. Morris/Gafford/Beal are just solid starters.

I’m team let Kuzma walk and trade Beal in the off-season and reset the culture. I think the one thing that Unseld can get right as a coach, is building a culture of accountability, but it’s hard to do that when guys like Beal and Wall had been here for years.

I think if you have Wes a bunch of young promising players, he would be more likely to mold them into being hardworking winning players, as opposed to the entitled/ego/non winning type.

Because of the cap, top 30 players are going to get paid the same as T10 players bc what T10 players are worth exceeds cap restrictions. Can't really get mad at that either. If max/supermax salaries aren't capped at 30-35% of payroll, max guys would be getting paid like $80mil/year.

I agree completely about Beal. I still think he is a very good player and a hard worker overall, but he has developed too many bad habits that will not be corrected by a newbie coach. It's a terrible situation to have the team leader unaccountable to anyone. Coaches and management are afraid to upset him, and younger players won't challenge his seniority.

The team will be better off trading Beal and either rebuilding from scratch, or rebuilding around Porzingis.

And I think Beal would be better off playing for a contending roster under a coach with championship credentials who won't hesitate to bench him when his bad habits kick in. I'd love to see Beal as the clear #2 (or #3) guy under a hard-ass coach with credibility, like Spoelstra, Budd, Thibs or Nurse.

The only way Beal is traded is IF he requests it...at which point we are likely to get cents on the dollar, such is the life of the Wizards fan...

Where would he want to go? Let me guess: Probably LA, Miami, Boston or Philly.

Of this group, who could offer the best buck for our money? Philly if they traded Maxey but that ain't happening...The LAL trade of Westbrook + 27 and 29 1sts is also gone now..After that is either Miami (A Herro package) or Boston (a Derrick White+ package). None of them are that appealing....but it may be better to move on given the benefits of a culture reset...

In any case, we may get lucky if the Knicks and Beal are willing parties....A Quickley+Fournier+Rose+ draft picks package is probably the best outcome after all...
