It would be amazing to see Derick Rose to the Valley.

Well, we do have a guy on the roster who hasn't suited up for us all season: KD.bigfoot wrote:SteveNashidis wrote:Question: With the singing of Ish , we lost the right to sing another player?

Correct ... Suns would need to waive the weakest link to sign Rose. Who is that?

So you almost need to swap Jock with another big if you get rid of Jock. As for Shamet, his contract is the only thing keeping him from the chopping block. He's fully guaranteed this year and the next.

It is interesting that people think Jock is that bad. Somehow he has earned his spot in the rotation over Biz. Looking at a variety of advanced stats, Landale is usually in the upper ranks of the entire team. Pretty good defensively and better offensively than Biz.

I've been thinking about this and I think the primary reason we're giving Jock Biz's minutes is so he can get used to playing more consistent minutes in case of tight game situations where you don't want a hack-a-Biz scenario. One guy is a career 80% FT shooter while the other is a 56% FT shooter and this season shooting a career low 31%.
The other reasons is that they are comparable rebounders although Jock is a better offensive rebounder, Jock is a little more efficient overall (surprisingly), Jock gets to the line more and has some shooting abilities. Although Biz is a better defender overall and a much better shot blocker.
From a net rating stand point, Jock is the better player. My worry is the lack of experience. He's a 2nd year player with no playoff experience whereas Biz has been around the block (mostly on bad teams) but does have decent playoff experience (20gm with Toronto). Like the advance stats support Jock behind ahead of Biz in the rotation but honestly, I don't really trust Jock being the first big off the bench

He is 27 and has two years of NBA experience. He also has three years of international experience with playoff games and an NBL Grand Final MVP under his belt. He played a decent role in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and won a bronze medal. Finally, he played four years of college ball and went to the NCAA tourney and 3 NIT tourneys. He's got plenty of experience.

Talking specifically about playoff experience here. Given he is looking likely the first big off the bench, that's a real worry for me.
As a fellow Aussie, I'm always going to support a countrymen but he is untested in the NBA playoffs.

I feel like it throws teams off a little because they don't face guys like that every game. Some games get physical and you need your own bruiser to match.
