Despite his limitations, I have seen Jokic protecting the rim when engaged. That being said, he usually doesn't even try, for whatever reason. Maybe he is aware that it is not his strength and more likely than not he will pickup a foul, maybe it takes energy that he wants to spend on other end, or whatever.

Jokic “deserves” this 2022-23 nba mvp.

Saying that. It’s the 3rd mvp in a row. The bar (and success expected) for a 3 time mvp is extremely high.

Should he win the the mvp this season. And I’m sure he will.

And even though playoff success doesn’t count for regular season mvp. Should Jokic not win an nba title. He will be the only 3 time mvp not to win nba title in any of his mvp seasons. That’s a damming metric he won’t be able to avoid. That’s how high the bar in terms of team success for 3 time nba mvp.

It should in theory but this is Jokic wer'e talking about. He gets to play with a different set of rules.

Embiid creates and hits the game-winning FG while Joker misses 2x with the game on the line, not able to create a clean look for himself.

But muh RAPTORZZZZ

It fluctuates, his defense was very good against the Grizzlies, and it was once again solid today.

I know both teams will never make a conference finals but Embiid deserves the MVP because of his defense and the game winner he had should be a big factor

you guys just beat a couple of teams (again) without Giannis (even one without Giannis and Jrue) and almost beat the champions at their home floor without Giannis

meanwhile, Joker's number #2 sucks and is in and out of the lineup with knee issues every other game

why are you so eager to credit Giannis for games in which he didn't play?

He’s meeting expectations when you talk about setting the bar higher. He’s averaging a triple double and they have the number 1 seed.

Didn't Embiid get the ball 3x in the last 2 mins vs. Blazers?

We just saw Jokic hit an even more impressive gamewinner ... a month ago lol. Stepback 3...

Second best player goes 5/19 but no let’s blame the guy who had a stat line of 35/20/11 on 60% to go with 2 steals & 2 blocks just because he missed a couple of shots at the end …

I do ask the 76ers fans though, do the same rules apply to Embiid if he had that stat line & Harden went 5/19 ? Does he get the same level of criticism you’re giving Jokic right now ?

I mean...Jokic is not the one to be going after in the clutch considering he's been better in the clutch their whole careers lol...

Maybe your 1 game sample size is more significant to you though

Here's a look at their play in the clutch this season:
