Οh we do, for sure we do. We just don't understand what the hell the NBA means by it.

That people think is a charge is the biggest problem. Ideally, you dont get bonus points for being weaker (tho thats not always the reality) and im glad the refs in this case called it to the book. Thats not legal guarding position. WTF do you think is gonna happen when your back trodding and giannis is coming full speed? Thats almost never a charge
So the defender needs to just let Giannis pass him by?
How exactly do you defend someone that big charging full speed at you? I've seen the exact same play being called a charge on players not named Giannis because they aren't former MVPs that won a championship.
If Shaq was still in the league he would even more damn near impossible to guard since he could just get downhill with a bit of steam and just plow through multiple defenders.

That said I still think it's unfair to criticize Jrue for lack of efficiency while sweeping it aside when it comes to Giannis. Of course Giannis did way more, he is an MVP level player for a reason. I also don't think it's fair to put all the blame on underwhelming supporting cast when Butler's was similar and he still remained efficient even though he's not on Giannis' level nor is held to the same standards for that very reason.

From the traveling to the fend offs to the hacking on defense and to the cheap shots on opponents, dude is governed by his own golden boy rule book that makes any unbiased fan sick.
Dude's good, there shouldn't be any need to bend the rules this badly to make him better.
Not even prime Bron got away with offensive fouls as much as Giannis. Mans doesn't even try to hide it anymore
mademan wrote:People dont understand what guarding position is. This was the same problem when people were upset at Lebron bowling defenders over. Giannis is faster and more agile than the bigs guarding him and when he makes a quick move, theyre out of position. Get faster or get out of the way, cause thats a foul every time. I'd honestly argue he doesnt get enough calls as refs are human and dont want to send someone to the line 30 times in a single game
enigmatics wrote:That ridiculous hop and carry the ball Giannis does when he first gets his burst towards the hoop is so freaking blatant. Been going on a long time and never gets called.

Okogie is so far out of position, it’s a clear blocking foul.
Now if Giannis extends his arm or pushes off then fair enough but this call doesn’t look remotely close.

But he not only dropped his shoulder but you can see his right arm also pushes the defender.
And if he was so far out of position how did he take the shoulder in his chest?.
This isn't the 80s, you don't have to be stopped and flat footed to take a charge any more.

He's coming from Giannis's right side and giving him a bump. That's not legal guarding position. This isn't hard, freeze it at three seconds. Craig is late moving in front, he's moving sideways to get in the way. You don't need to be flat footed, but you DO need to be in front, not off to the side. Giannis is just entitled to that space as Craig and Giannis beats him to it.

Yes he was in front, he didn’t extend his arms at all. He doesn’t have to cover 100% of the space Giannis is headed to, with that logic anyone could change their trajectory to the left or right by 20%, at the last second, and suddenly it would be a blocking foul. Craig is not Tom Cruise. He went flying because of Giannis contact, not because he’s a great actor.
