I'm asking why do you have him in your top 5. i.e. the reasons you like him, not dislike him.
Yeah, let's not act like that was super clear, but I already stated this.
He is still an athletic guard, you can be athletic without being a top 5% athlete like Morant, Wall and Rose. He is still more explosive than Wallace, George and JHS types. His playmaking seems above average, but a step below a Trae Young or LaMelo.
His shooting is a red flag to prevent me from taking him 2nd when coupled with his size. If his shooting improves he again probably ends up a better player than George, Wallce and JHS. His form is fine, but I am not sold its a done deal he is above average from deep in his career. If let's say Amen and him end up both being 36% 3pt shooters. I would rather have Amen for his size and defensive upside.
His size, at 4-6 in the draft I can take him for NEED of a point guard and be fine with him as the lead ball handler for the next 5 years. At 2 or 3? Am I jamming him into my roster no matter the other players and trying to make it work playing him or my current pg out of position? probably not. Whereas if I have SF that is great, I am fine still taking Miller 2nd and figuring it out. Same with Wemby. If I have an elite center, I am still taking Wemby no matter what my needs are. That is the difference in a guy IMO that is a lock for a top 3.
I think Scoot can be a really good player and a great pick for someone, not ruling it out. At same time I am not hyping him as some 2nd coming of Rose or Morant that is a lock to be a day 1 franchise changer.
