I think he's going to be an all-star as a rookie, that would make him one of the youngest ever. Kobe was a bit younger I think, right?

He's putting on weight properly, his back and shoulders are filling out slowly, his body looks completely different than Chet's did at that age. He has a good amount of lean muscle.

How many draft picks is Victor Wembanyama worth?

For example, if the Mavericks landed him could they ask OKC for SGA & 10 picks?

If Portland got him could they get Brooklyn to give them M. Bridges, Cam Johnson, DFS, and picks?

Those two proposals arent even close to the same  If Dallas asks for SGA and 10 picks, they would have more tenacity Sinatra and Hefner combined, I mean thats just stupid.

But yes, he is good, call the Xcom Squad, this alien is a global threat. I dont even know what some of these guys thinkingwhen trying to score over him inside... It is like watching video game NPCs that dont adapt and learn, no intelligence.

What teams (with a realistic chance) would seriously consider trading Victor Wembanyama if they land the number one pick?

My guesses:
Portland
Orlando - unlikely but possible
Dallas
OKC - (I think they would probably trade other big pieces)
New Orleans - trading Zion would make more sense

Why do you believe these proposals aren't close? I didn't say how many picks in the second one?
All 10 picks wouldn't necessarily be good. They could all be non-lottery pick 1sts.

SGA alone is borderline superstar, I love VW, but I am not sure I am trading SGA for VW, In a vacuum I do, but if I am OKC, I dont know, let alone adding 10 first round picks. VW is all time great prospect, but lets not act like he guarantees 5 rings by default, he doesn't.

Thanks for clarifying.
Of course we never know how a guy will translate plus injuries are unpredictable but I'm assuming he's going to be Kareem/Duncan level impact.

To go full hypothetical, what would you give up for him if you knew he would be at that level for twenty years and you lose two or less seasons of those 20 due to injury? 10 picks, good ones, still too much?

I dont know, it is hard for me to value NBA assets. Nowadays league is very competitive, so even with all time great you will do nothing if you surround him with scrubs. Look at Luka or Jokic last year. Wemby would be better then those, but what is your chances to first convince him to stay with you if you trade all the assets for just him. If you are small market team, you need win big at the draft, but can you put all your eggs in one basket like that, even with GOAT level player, you need to nail draft at least few times to really get yourself a dynasty.

I think in this scenario, you solve one thing but you create other problems obviously. BUt yes, I would trade a lot for a GOAT, but your roadmap after that is as good as praying.

To me, LeBron is definitely the best player I have ever seen, but lets say he never left Cleveland, how many titles that guy gets, Cleveland was just crap, I mean they were contenders, kind off fake contenders, simply because they had best player in the world, but man, they kept surrounding him with borderline starter material players, and its not like they didnt had chance to draft something good.

Let's just say he is a Kareem/Duncan level prospect. There would still be a non insignificant chance he gets hurt. There would still be a chance something non basketball related derails him (e.g. Ja Morant). You need to look at the average outcome of VW. I don't think that is much better than SGA.
Talent isn't everything. You need a lot of things to go right to become an all time great. Saying no to the sure thing that is SGA for the potential of VW is a lot to give up.

Would Dallas trade Wembanyama (plus bad contracts) for basically Brooklyn's entire team? Something like:

Wembanyama
Bertans
Hardaway Jr.
McGee
Bullock

for

Mikal Bridges
DFS
Claxton
Cam Thomas
Cameron Johnson (S&T)
Their 2029 pick back

It leaves Dallas with:
PG Kyrie/Hardy
SG Bridges/Thomas
SF DFS/Green
PF Luka/Johnson
C Claxton/Kleber

That's easily a title contender and all of their bad contracts are off the books - particularly if they can leverage their contender status into getting Kyrie to sign a more team friendly deal.

Brooklyn would essentially have nothing except VW but they just might do it

there is no realistic chance any team is trading away wembanyama in 2023.
