I said multiple times. English is not my language so I can defend Jaylen (cause I don't need to go deep, he is a great player, he showed several times at the biggest stages) but it will be hard for me talking deeply about Celtics basketball. I already do that on "my" Facebook Community (4.000 members not many but we are in Italy).

Even said that, Jaylen is my favorite player but I'm not bias. I wrote a lot of times that JT is the most impactful player on the team so what?
I just don't like multiple standard and I don't understand the hate some posters have vs Jaylen. It's obvious they can't stand the guy, they show that multiple times, and try so downplay him in any manner possible.
For years they said he can't be this, he can't be that and so on... year, after year, after year and every year they try another way to talk **** about him.

I already wrote this once: I had an animated conversation with Karalis years ago when he said, after year 3, that Jaylen couldn't be much more than a great 3 and D guy. But after that year he apologize his listeners and said: I was wrong cause Jaylen denied me too many times. So I just stop to put a ceiling on this guy.
In reverse seems that some posters here dream that JB fails.

I'm good, I don't live hating the best player on my team, I'll be happy if JT win a ring being MVP finals and sometimes RS MVP.
I just want my team win with players I love and Jaylen is one of theme and he is a damn strong player despite the hits he takes on RealGm forum.

Stan, nobody here gives a damn about English not being your first language. Your posts are easier to read than plenty of people whose first language is English.

But you do one thing on this board, so it’s hard to take it seriously. You do nothing but overtly defend Jaylen, and yes you attack any posters who disagree with you. Posters are allowed to have different opinions, posters are allowed to use advanced stats, the Celtics sure as hell do. Everyone acknowledges Jaylen is a very good player, there’s just disagreement on him being good versus great. Forums are about discussions and differing opinions.

Anytime someone posts something you don’t like, you make the same unserious post.

Having different opinions of players and their ceilings doesn’t mean you hate someone. That’s low hanging fruit and simpleton stuff.

You’ve made it into hating. That’s your definition. Which is fine but not factual and not most people’s interpretation. I’ve always used to say Jaylen is exactly what you want from a franchise player. He’s active in the community, he’s transparent and he’s a pretty damn good player.

Everyone here has been wrong about a player and will be again - it’s what fans do. I’ve admitted Jaylen has improved himself so much and he deserves credit for being much better than I thought. Doesn’t mean my opinion now on the player becomes invalid.

No one “hates” Jaylen brown. It’s just ridiculous. We can criticize his game and we can be wrong and in situations we can be right and when you say people “hate” him you just lose credibility.

Everyone wants him to succeed and to continue to because it means the Celtics reap the benefits.

I’d like to think you aren’t actually homophobic, I’m sure you’re a good person. But you’re absolutely a hypocrite on here, and have said more offensive things than I have, fact, not lie. So don’t paint me as being malignant to this board, when the reality is that most posters highly value what I bring on here.

So other posters are allowed to attack but I can’t attack back? That’s garbage, all of my posts were responses. Try reading back a little further, if that’s not too much work.

Report it to all the higher authority (lmao it’s a basketball forum) you want, you’ve already chased away truth, Cave, CeltsFanSinceBirth, Disinformation and countless other great longtime posters, as you allow racism, sexism, and homophobic attacks, but how dare someone attack the others basketball opinion.

Place is a joke, and Fencer was right. This is why no other mods care, you just do whatever you want.

Please dial back the hostility and mod bashing. This could all be discussed via PM. -b

It would be nice to have moderation with some backbone but as it is, soon as you say anything negative or rather, not effusively positive about Jaylen Brown, the mods probably get a millions of reports and being lazy they just lash out at the poster for having an opinion.
Hilarious also that people are getting "reported to the higher authority" for personal attacks even though moderation lets numerous personal attacks go without even a warning.

I refuse to read this thread at all because I hate it and it annoys me. So yeah, they only time I really click on it is when there are reports lol. (Or maybe a drive-by post here and there and then I bounce out again.)

Anyway, I don't know who started this ish but can we all dial it back? This can't be fun.

But like I alluded to above, the entire report thing is flawed because it’s agenda driven. 99% of the posters here not named Hal won’t ever report anything, and just let things run it’s course.

But me getting warned for replying to me being told that I’m “embarrassing myself” or that I changed my name to hide from my horrible takes? Nah, that’s not what the report button was made for.

This is why we had to take away a certain posters ability to report in the past, because he was only reporting attacks from posters he didn’t like.

I get what you're saying. I'll do a better job of looking back over the thread to see who said what before giving future warnings etc.

That said, even if the other guy started it there is a "no personal attacks" rule on RGM. Using the report button would be preferable to ratcheting up a fight.

For me as a mod, my goal isn't really to discipline people and get them "in trouble." It's more to diffuse situations and help them avoid discipline. So it would be great if that could happen here and we all moved on.

I agree with most of this but what I kind of find troubling is that modding is seemingly done on a report basis only. It’s kind of shocking to know that mods don’t necessarily read threads that they are supposed to be moderating

Seriously though, obviously I know being a mod sucks lol, but these situations resolve themselves. Sam and I were done, stan and I had a respectable back and forth. If those posts weren’t reported by 9000, nothing would have came of it.

In sports, we all complain about the guy who retaliates getting nailed, then do the same thing here lol.

For me I do that with only this thread. Because it's not my cup of tea and although I'm a mod I'm still not trying to spend my day reading something that annoys me. I'm just a dude on a couch like the rest of y'all and no one likes things they don't like. I mod the GB too and I have to find a balance or this place will drive me nuts.

But as I just said, I'll do a better job going forward. Because I apparently have to lol.
