It would take at least OG+13. Probably some slight value more on top (2nds, precious)
Some people make too much out of what they think OG’s value is. Of course he’s an incredibly valuable defender for any contender BUT we’re not that and reality has hopefully finally set in these guys aren’t good enough.
I don’t know a perfect comparison for Scoot but I’d anticipate he’ll have a very similar impact to prime DRose, not the same player as Ja but those kinds of lead guards/face of the franchise…so that would be an easy yes for me personally. I’d give a very outside chance that maaaybe DET would consider it but I’d be very surprised if they didn’t just elect to take Miller instead and keep more control over him for longer.
IF someone would, I do it and don’t even think twice. Considering what Scoot would likely command in a trade in a few years from now, you’ll never get a star guard of that calibre for a lower asking price than now before they show what they’re capable of (ie/ we should’ve traded OG for the POR #7 and drafted Sharpe when we had the chance; now no chance). I know this board likes to have wet dreams of another miracle trade for a Kawhi level player but I think trading our key players for better picks is the far more likely route to not only get a star but keep them.
