That's not how USG rate works. You're talking about time of possession on the ball, usage rate is something completely different.
His USG% dropped a lot since Kyrie arrived but his production stayed basically the same. Mavs started losing more when his USG% dropped, coincidence or ....?
I'll remind you, go back to early months when Luka had to statistically average 36/9/9 for Mavs to even be competitive, no one complained about his USG% back then
So, again... USG rate is not a as bad as people make it out to be, mostly because those people have no clue how it's calculated and then they just throw in random stuff like "He dribbles too much, his USG rate is too high, other players can't get in rhythm, etc.." But, those are 3 different things mixed into ONE and media grabs it up and just take it for granted. But in reality, it's completely false.
And one other thing. Since Doncic arrived, Mavs were ALWAYS top5 in half court offense, they were even Nr1 this year. So, yeah.. All in all, his USG% is not the problem. What you're suggesting, we have to start with coaching and player personal.
