Yes, but this is their problem.

Cuban screwed up the team and now he will face the consequences.
A **** storm has just started for him, he has the last chance for saving him and the team.

Kyrie needs to be there because Luka defers to him. Or if you plan to move Kyrie, you need to get a vet back that can kick Luka's ass if needed. Because Luka will simply just go back to dribbling for 19 seconds and shoot a fadeaway stepback 35 footer while 4 other guys watch and wait for kick out passes. Mavs have done that for 4 years now. You guys want to go back to that again? And have the Luka fans complain why his usage rate is so high when he dribbles 19 seconds out of the 24 second shot clock.

Luka said in his interview that he likes Kyrie there because it lessens his job. He can make plays from the post when Kyrie is there. Your star player likes it, and you guys say no? Cuban says he's willing to pay Kyrie. The owner who signs the check is okay with oaying $200M, and you say no as well? Well maybe put a bid and buy the team from Cuban then. You guys seem to know all the answers over the guy who's willing to put down half a billion dollars on Luka and Kyrie combined. LOL

Look guys, the grass always seems greener on the other side. We get that you want all the premium assets in the world and all. There are 30 teams and only 1 gets the number 1 pick. Doesnt mean 29 other teams failed. OKC has like 15 picks and no rings. But it looks nice from the outside.

That's not how USG rate works. You're talking about time of possession on the ball, usage rate is something completely different.

His USG% dropped a lot since Kyrie arrived but his production stayed basically the same. Mavs started losing more when his USG% dropped, coincidence or ....?

I'll remind you, go back to early months when Luka had to statistically average 36/9/9 for Mavs to even be competitive, no one complained about his USG% back then :D

So, again... USG rate is not a as bad as people make it out to be, mostly because those people have no clue how it's calculated and then they just throw in random stuff like "He dribbles too much, his USG rate is too high, other players can't get in rhythm, etc.." But, those are 3 different things mixed into ONE and media grabs it up and just take it for granted. But in reality, it's completely false.

And one other thing. Since Doncic arrived, Mavs were ALWAYS top5 in half court offense, they were even Nr1 this year. So, yeah.. All in all, his USG% is not the problem. What you're suggesting, we have to start with coaching and player personal.

In theory less usage for Luka means better defense... He needs to understand that too.

Less usage for Luka means he can avoid those hamstring injuries that happen a week before the playoff start. Gives you a better shot at competing in the playoffs than regular season stats. 30 point triple doubles arent that impressive anymore if guys like Josh Giddey have been getting it like Luka. After 4 seasons of doing the same tricks, the defense will eventually catch on to those no look passes to the corner and them stepback threes he makes at a 30% clip. It just looks spectacular when you first do it and the defense isnt prepared. If Josh Giddey has been getting 30 point triple doubles, then All NBA Luka now has to get 60 point triple doubles for it to be impressive. Guys like Donovan Mitchell have been scoring in the 40s easily. Regular season numbers dont mean anything. So far, Luka has shown he can play good defense for 1 game if he chooses to. So that means he just chose not to play defense for the other 80 games. These little things you need to get called out for.

So many ppl not understanding usage. Like, how is usage connected with lukas hamstrings? If luka doesnt bend his knees to take that shot it saves his hamstrings? Im not gonna bash, i cba really but can some mod make a sticky with a usage guide?

You're referring to usage rate. I'm referring to the amount of stuff he does while the 4 other guys just stand and watch. Prior to the kyrie trade, Luka just does as he pleases and sure it gets good regular season stats but it doesnt help when 4 other guys just score in single digits standing around doing nothing. So when Kyrie came on board, you can see the change in pace and how other players suddenly knew how to run fast breaks all of a sudden. Now Luka dancing for 19 seconds like a ball hog isnt necessary anymore. Again, you're referring to usage rate, I was referring to actual usage. There is no use wasting energy dancing around for 19 seconds. Just move the ball around like the Sacramento Kings. 2 points is still 2 points regardless of how much you dribble. Just let him use the energy he saves there so he can play on defense. How about that? He's proven he can suddenly play defense. Pretty sure he didnt learn that overnight. He just chooses not to.

Especially with the narrative going on right now on Espn is Luka was holding Jalen Brunson back all along. Playing Luka ball and standing behind the 3 point line while a white boy dribbles for 19 seconds doesnt get you paid big bucks. Pretty sure Jalen didnt mean to put it that way but espn sure has been singing that tune. Luka has to shed that image of holding the ball too long. Kyrie will help with that IMO. If they are able to re-sign him. Big IF. But if they fall back to Fred Van Vleet or D'Angelo Russell, then we're back to Luka ball for sure. It's a team full of beta males with Luka as the only alpha. You can smack Dwight Powell in the head and his canadian instincts would make him apologize for standing in the way of your palm. You need a co-alpha there to check each other IMO. Cant have one guy run it all. That never ends well.

Is he really good? I've seen very little about him, but he can't shoot. I don't know if he could be our man at the 4.

Anyway he is very young.

They say defense is his calling card. I saw a few of his college games and he definitely hustles on that end and tries to rebound.

Would probably prefer to keep the pick, but wouldn't be mad if this happened.

Espn isn't reputable anymore. Just folks yelling or complaining about this and that.

They fired the basketball analyst that was actually knowledgeable in Rachel Nichols. Michael Wilbon is okay, most others are terrible.

CBA cap experts, completely hypothetical scenario. If Kyrie wanted to go to the Clippers to play with Kawhi, and Leonard prefers him to PG13 after another elimination.

Is a S&T of Kyrie for PG legal?

PG's contract will be 45,640,084$ so if Mavs sign Kyrie for the same amount, yes S&T would be legal.

I saw some sites reporting a S&T of Draymond for Wood+2nd round. It would give Draymond long term deal that he is looking for and Mavs receive a defensive specialist. But i don't know why GSW would want Wood though.

Extremely hard for the Clippers to pull off S&T and stay under the Apron, possible but hard.

Yeah there is no motivation for GSW to do that Draymond for Wood deal if it doesnt save them any dollars. Golden State is very near the hard cap and is likely not to give Draymond a max extension.

I would do that Kyrie for PG swap though. Both players load manage at some point in the season so its a wash.

Eric Gordon is non-guaranteed, so they are ~180,Apron should be around 168-170, I think Clippers are bigger threat than Lakers, both ardn't big tisk.

Right now they are at 191M. Westbrook had a buyout so his salary is only 495,955$ at the moment. Next season their salary will baloon to over 200M. Just with Kawhi and PG they are sitting at over 90M already. Similar to how Mavs situation will be once Kyrie resigns.

You sure? It says here that his contract is "2023-24 Guaranteed ". But maybe this site has it wrong, not sure. Apron will be at 162M next season so yeah, that would put LAC even without his contract at around 178M.
