Only reasons Spurs were contenders for so long was Tim Duncan. He was still an elite player during their 5th championship, just playing less minutes. The warriors with Curry will be the same.
They're bad defensively now, with Klay no longer able to harass opposing PGs the way he used to, which was one of most underrated aspects of the Warriors from years past. Wiggins is basically the "equivalent" rabbit out of the hat as the Spurs trading for Kawhi, but he's obviously nowhere near Kawhi's level, though he absolutely contributed last year.
And then as I said before, there's the matter of the luxury tax, which is far more punitive now and the Warriors are pushed hard against. The Spurs didn't have role players asking for the type of money that Poole and Draymond wanted.
I would say Wiggins was better in the Warriors 2022 playoff run as Kawhi was in Spurs 2014 playoffs run, if you consider all playoffs and not just the finals. Kawhi was only better in the finals. For example in 2014, Kawhi had 11.8 ppg on .412% shooting against OKC and Spurs still won 4-2 because Duncan/Ginobli were still really good.
But, your 2nd paragraph is a strong point which may be what prevents the Warrriors from being able to retool like the Spurs did. Also, Pop is a better coach than Kerr. I think think it's a fair comparison overall though.
