It's kind of ironic that last year we were desperate for a 2nd scorer because no one could provide anything to relieve pressure from Booker. So desperate that we traded our team for KD.

Fast-forward to now, when our new scorer can't make a damn shot and literally every single role player is completely useless. And the majority have been useless for 7 straight games

Regardless of your opinion on the KD trade, he failed the offseason and trade deadline yet again. Players 5 to 15 of this roster are 3rd stringers on a good team at best. None of them can be relied upon on a nightly basis. Our weaknesses have been clear every offseason and every trade deadline, and we sit on our hands while other teams get better.

Yeah, I mentioned a lot this past offseason about how worried I was about our depth, even without Jae out. It just felt too thin. Okogie ended up looking good for a short stretch and it appeared maybe we got a couple of other decent players at the deadline (outside of KD of course) but it's tough.

Of course our 5th player is Cam without the trade...and I'm uncertain if Jones really himself wanted to do that deal. But yes, regardless, our depth would still be an issue without that trade, just to a slightly lesser extent.

Depth has been an issue since Dario tore his ACL in the finals unfortunately. We definitely don't have the same depth on the wing either, and Cam Payne has fallen off hard.

Book’s been great in these playoffs but this response could’ve been better. It honestly sounds like a “I’m just happy to be here” type quote. He needs to be a leader and call out whoever needs to be called out whether it’s publicly or privately. LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, MJ etc all called out plenty of teammates and coaches publicly and it helped them in the journey to get like 20+ rings just between all of them.

Durant 10-27 with 2 of his baskets in garbage time after his 7 TO masterclass disaster in game 1.

The bench shot a total of 2-15. Ross and Warren who again contributed plenty and gave us good production towards the end of the season never get a chance.

Seriously look at the box score for this game. Look at our fcking beautiful bench production. Why are they not getting a chance here??

Cheep up Suns fans let’s not look at this game as a loss, but as a win not playing Shamet a single minute.

Not sure who gets more blame for scoring 87 points. KD was terrible at shooting and the series against Celtics suggests it's not an accident and we can expect more of it with him aging. Monty moved Okogie to the starting lineup, a player who hesitates to take a wide open shot from FT line(happened around 2-3 mins left). Can't get anything out of the bench players including Craig who was hot against Clippers.

LV-Suns wrote:That was one of the worst offensive games I have seen played. We are painfully slow on offense, there are rarely ever any opportunities for fast breaks. I don’t get it, we have 2 of the best offensive players in the league, a guy that shoots 60%+, yet the best shot we can get is a contested mid range shots. We are making it so much more difficult for ourselves to get a shot up. whatever happened to Monty’s .5 offense? Now every possession down the floor is just an iso from Booker and KD.

We've become the Brooklyn Nets of the west in swapping our depth and assets for Durant. This a good example of why top heavy super team strategy just doesn't work against a balanced team with quality depth and young energizing talent. It would work better IF two of our Max stars were actually still in their prime at all. But Paul is a non factor mostly. And Durant is a shadow of himself since the ACL injury. He just doesn't have the same unstoppable explosive dominance. He's evolved into a more smooth yet less dominant factor at times. Ayton is too passive, and Booker for all his recent ascendance still struggles at times in big moments when it matters most! WE DESPERATELY NEED an influx of more size, length, elite speed, elite athleticism and serious physicality and killer instinct to offset our starters random struggles. And we need more LEGITIMATE QUALITY PREMIUM DEPTH in free agency.

Serious question.

It's up there. I seem to remember a few failures. The Kurt Thomas situation, trading Marion for Shaq, bending to memes about our defense and firing D'Antoni, etc. Worst decision of all time was hiring McDonough however.

Ummmmmmmm. You guys are both missing the most obvious choice here. Something that this board gives me hate for on a daily basis. The easiest answer to what Sarver did worse:

Choosing Ayton over Luka. Made even worse by the fact we had his national coach as our guy already. McD has gone on to say that was a Sarver move, not one by him.

Im telling you, Ish-buddy Thomas will be coaching next yr… and Puppet Jones will succumb to their (Matty and Zeke) wishes. Ish-brother will be groomed for GM

And Ghost… there is a canyon between what we need and how we get it.

And we were so happy to rid ourselves of Sarver

At this point looks safe to say a trade for Kyrie would have been better despite not being a fan of this guy at all.

Well that stat is wrong.

Yeah the stat was 1 loss off. It’s actually 0-13

My favorite part of the KD trade was that our new owner didn't think to consult with literally anyone involved in the day-to-day team operations. Literally shocked every player and coach. A+ decision making.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Hes not gonna wanna start over and coach in thr big leagues at age 67. At most we can get him as a "advisor role" where he can use his ability to find high school talent and can lead to getting some young kids that will drop in the draft.

Which would be just fine with me btw.

Jay Wright perhaps?? Maybe add one of Atkinson, Mcmillan, or another young up and coming assistant.

Denver got him on a steal of a contract in the summer, it was obvious in the summer itself.

Return to Phoenix Suns
