I think Suns fans will implode even more if they play well! Lol to me, it’s clear what Monty has been doing. You have D Book and KD, surround those players with more defense minded players. Those two guys should generate a bunch of open looks, no matter who is on the court so the offense SHOULD be fine. The problem is that D Lee, Craig, Okogie, Shamet are not making open shots. Sometimes they’re not even confident enough to shoot them.

The team defense we played last game was one of the best I’ve seen since the KD trade. We should have won that game.

With CP3 out, and at home, adjustments will have to be made and that’s where TJ Warren and Ross come into play now. Hopefully both play well enough to stay in the rotation.

D**khead hs lost the locker room. He was great in 21 that’s why guys like Payne and Ayton played amazing.

Those guys are over him. You can play amazing one night and then still get a DNP-CD the next night because d***head wants to get his baby boy Shamet and his favorite players Lee and Craig some minutes.

Win or lose this guy needs to go.

Their confidence is shot so that's very likely. Talking about the fans, TJ and Ross here.

Our entire bench outside of Warren and Ross are 12th man type of players. None of them should ever play meaningful minutes.
Di**head plays them all game.

Well, it's not only about playing them. You also have to have a gameplan / X's and O's drawn up properly.

Here is a hypothetical question for y'all: say we got Love and the Heat got Ross - how many of you can say that Love would be just as good here and Ross sitting on bench there, or would it be Love sitting over here and Ross going off over there? My money is on the latter.

I think DA was more of a case of playing for a max deal in 21, now he has the 2nd contract he's less hungry/motivated

I haven't loved some of Monty's decisions and I don't know why he can't get these guys to fire more 3s but I don't think he's going to get fired this summer. Now if 23/24 doesn't go as planned I could see Mat clean house.

Jdiddy and Saberestar it’s not your fault you both were just caught in the crossfire and took a massive hit. Remember that you both are loved on this forum and nothing will change that not even a silly poll. :(

Didn't Heat make the finals with two undrafted players in the starting lineup. I think this answers the question.

Edit: Bad memory regarding their finals run. I'm referring Strus and Vincent being part of their starting lineup, two undrafted players.

I think some have before asked why we are not playing them, though not recently.

But like I said, even though I think we still have a decent chance to win the series, and I think we have a very good chance of taking both home games, and then possibly a game or 2 after that...

...that playing different guys off our bench is kind of like reaaranging deck chairs on the Titanic...not that our team is going down, but none of them are probably going to be consistent nice rotation players.

I do think TJ and Ross have it in them though, at least on offense, and TJ a bit on defense, but they have both regressed quite a bit. If he sticks with Shamet (which I think he likely will with Paul out, for another ball handler), we just need him launch 3s and hit them. He had a couple 30+ pt games this year.

Payne will get better too. He had been out a long time. Now after playing briefly, and then more minutes, in high altitude, he gets a few days off, and the home crowd, and maybe can play with the starters and we can run a faster pace. Though the pace thing worked better with Cam/Mikal than KD, and Denver may be better at it given their main guys are all younger.

Yeah. I wish that we had a playable player instead of Bazely because he ain't it
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Should’ve kept Saric he could have helped us out with rebounding, play making and shooting threes. Now our team is poop. :banghead:

JJ had a disasterclass in this trade deadline.

Well he was dealing with an ownership change while shopping Jae for a extra rotation player, but then it shifted to the big trade and ADDING Jae to that. Then to duck the tax we dumped ANOTHER rotation player in Saric.

So we went from two starters, Saric, and getting something from Crowder, to KD, TJ and Bazley. So instead of having 4 rotation players, we have 1. Now of course most view it as worth it, and I get it, but we knew we had depth problems, or most did. We knew that when Jae wouldn't play and we still had Bridges, Cam and Saric.

Im still mad that we couldnt trade Crowder at all (and Brooklyn managed to get thousand 2nd for him)
and then paid THE SAME package for KD they were asking in July.

Yep, thats about asset management. I've been beating that drum since the (first) TJ trade, when most were enamored with JJ about "getting his guy". I've always said that if we lose on the margins pretty much every trade it's gonna come back and bite us in the áss later on. And here we are.
As for Monty - I've said it for a couple of seasons: he is our Jackson, time to find our Kerr.

These two are not competent enough to win a chip. They are not Blanks and Watson bad, but nothing better than mediocre.
Basically the whole team is based on a lucky find in Booker in a draft, who became great despite the organizational failures around him. That (and a more than couple of tanking seasons of draft picks) got us CP wanting to play here. We overpaid in that trade as well. That got us an aging floor coach (for 2ish good years on a bad contract stucture and lenght) to hide Montys deficits. That got us KD wanting to play here - but we overpaid in that trade as well - and guess what? Contract is too long for his age. Familiar?
Now we are sitting here, capped out, two old and oft injured stars (is CP still a star? I don't think so), and no draft picks and no assets. If we don't get extreemly lucky this will be a bumpy ride in the next 2-3 years with Book / KD wanting out sooner or a bit later.

But again: this is nothing that I haven't seen or predicted after watching NBA for 30+ years now. Yawn. Also the reason why i post less and less... i follow Suns games, general box scores, some articles and podcasts once in a while if they sound intresting, come here pretty much daily, but not really post
