I know you're excited, but could you explain to me why the city would be excited about bringing him back for those dollars? He's old, they're young and terrible.
Don't think Philly should care. If they win a title, great. If they don't win a title, windows probably closed
How would you have felt Iverson or DR J went somewhere else and returned back to Philadelphia. Unless you are from Houston can’t imagine how beloved James still is in Houston
He wasnt even drafted by Houston.
He spent the first 3 years of his career in OKC. I know he spent the prime of his career in Houston basically 8.5 seasons but Allen Iverson was drafted by Philly he spent 12 seasons here and basically left when he was washed. Sorry not comparable. You want to compare Iverson to someone in a similar situation the names that come to mind are guys like Gary Payton and Karl Malone.
Harden is still a top NBA player and is building a legacy separate from the Rockets. The deeper we advance in the playoffs the further from a Rocket he becomes in most casual fans minds. That is just the reality.
I was so hyped when they announced Iverson was being brought back here in December 2009. My freshman year of college. Vibes were immaculate as the kids say. I knew he was kinda washed, but it was the Eddie Jordan year, peak treadmill era so not much to be excited about with Iguodala, Rodney Carney, rookie Jrue Holiday, Elton Brand, Dalembert, Willie Green, Jodie Meeks, Marreese Speights, etc.
Had some memorable games (the last duel with Kobe), then fizzled out due to his daughter's health unless it was some other undisclosed off-court drama.
