Agree, AZJeff. Firing the coach is cheap and easy. Look around the league.

We should probably have a separate thread for the GM/FO, but what's the point...

I did a stats workup on how badly the lack of a backup center killed us. Hartenstein's minutes were in the plus last year and this year the non-Zubac minutes were a heavy minus [before Plumlee]. When you go from + to -, the swing is doubled.
Also, Zubac had to play extra minutes, and he wore down as the year went on. Plus Reggie as the starting PG had no backup either and eventually had a complete meltdown.
[J-Wall was supposed to cover this, so Frank deserves less blame for that part. I am still astounded that J-Wall was the worst player on the Clippers, even most of the G-Leaguers. I'll eat a big shttburger on that prediction.

The FO f/up wasn't even constructing a mismatched roster, but keeping a surplus of reserves at the 2 [Powell, Mann, Kennard and maybe even Boston] while being understaffed at the 1, 4 and 5. Personally, I think the Buck Stops with Ballmer, and my guess is that the FO didn't have a free hand to do what what was needed.
But you can't fire the owner, eh? In the least, Ballmer needed more than a yes-man as GM. Indeed, we must still wonder where Jerry West was in all this... You gotta KNOW that if Logo whispered ANYTHING in Steve's ear, it would have got done YESTERDAY.
