I think Giannis is coachable and capable of halfcourt execution. Generally speaking, I think 90% of our halfcourt problems would be solved if 1) we worked as a team to get catches for Giannis inside 15 feet and 2) Giannis went immediately on the catch. If the double's there, he should be able to get rid of it with a touch. If nobody's open, that's not on Giannis. If the double's not there, he's going to win clean a lot of the time if he goes right away, and the rest of the time he's going to have a lot of opportunities to use the fakes and counters *that he has* but which aren't super useful when he's backing a guy down, because most good defenders are just going to wait for him to shoot a turnaround and let him. It just doesn't work to get a touch at 15 feet, let Bam anchor, and then try to back him down. You're never going to get a great shot out of that. But if you turn, face, go, that's Game 6 Giannis.
It's the waiting that kills us: guys waiting for Giannis to go, Giannis waiting for guys to cut, defense getting progressively more organized.
