Thing is, I don't think GM's really think to highly on Siakam either.
POR has been circling us the last 2 years BOTH at last year's draft AND at this past deadline.
The ONLY issue I see is Masai (period).
He has to stop this crazy overvaluation of his players, that's the only thing I see standing in the way of a deal. POR has more than shown interest in our players, arguably shown THE most interest of any of the opposing teams as they've been linked to wanting either/both of OG and Pascal. So it's really a matter imo, if Masai will stop being so goddamn annoying in acting like we have Giannis and not Siakam lol. Meaning I could see him irrationally EXPECTING to get BOTH the 3rd and Sharpe for JUST Pascal or multiple futures in addition and that WON'T happen.
POR pushed back when they offered 7th + Hart for OG which was more than fair imo but Masai was adament that we get another pick and the deal fell through, now we'll regret that and I'm just hoping history doesn't repeat itself because my guess will be that POR offers 3rd + Simons and MAYBE one more pick but Masai will have Mitchell and Gobert in his head and push for 3+ picks or Sharpe to which POR tells him to f off AGAIN. Then they go make some stupid short-sighted trade for KAT or something, who will solve nothing for them.
Where I do think he could actually leverage a team to paying more than expected is HOUSTON. I think they'd give their pick, plus more & even a couple of their young guys, Eason, Smith Jr etc. Heck of course Green's name was floated out there already but I think Tilman as a new owner is just DYING to get more fans in the stands as their attendance has been garbage since Harden left, hence the desire to bring the StripClub King home that I can easily see the Rockets overpaying to be "relevant" again. Only issue is while Amen is still an exciting prospect...he's not Scoot lol.
