The coach has to get superstar buy in, role player buy in and figure out an offensive and defensive system to win a title.

There are plenty of coaches who coached superstars who didn't become made men.

Unless you remember Bill Fitch or Don Chaney for example.

They both coached Hakeem before Tomjanovic.

I'm sure RS will jump in, but I think he means former player superstars who go into coaching do not have success.

Superstars make **** coaches. Always have.

Superstars who relied on physical talents make poor coaches because they gained their esteemed reputation through a means that isn't transferable. For example, Nash was an elite ball handler, shooter, and passer. These are skills he couldn't pass onto his players. Kidd was long, strong, an elite passer, rebounder, and pesky defender. Neither were smart players who understood the game better than everybody else.

On the other hand, Larry Bird was a great coach. As a player, he was usually the smartest player on the floor. In the same vein, I think Chris Paul could be a good coach if he wanted to be. Maybe others like Draymond, Rondo, Horford. I'd be looking at players like that before I considered somebody like Giannis or Curry or even LeBron. LeBron is a high IQ player, but he sees the game through the lens of being more physically gifted than everybody else.

Of course Giannis will be involved. As he was with Bud (Giannis and Khris had dinner with Bud before the hire was announced). That doesn't mean Giannis is "calling the shots". It means you keep your franchise player in the loop with this critical coaching hire.

That’s really ugly Bucks better do their investigative work if they go that route. Giannis must not know about this? I can’t see Giannis supporting this guy with these types of allegations. Bucks need to be 100% certain he is falsely accused/innocent if they pull the trigger. Just hire Nurse and keep it simple.
