Probably as likely as Miami trading for Lillard and getting a Grant S&T. Not highly likely mostly due to future cap concerns.
I'm really not sure what Porzingis or Grant would command in the FA market this season with all the CBA changes. Grant is UFA and Porzingis has a PO that he would likely opt out of to extend his contract.
Both are probably looking for around the $30-35mil mark
Porzingis 27yo - 23.2ppg/8.4rpg/2.7apg/1.5bpg/0.9spg/49FG%/38FG3%
Grant 29yo - 20.5ppg/4.5rpg/2.4apg/0.8bpg/0.8spg/47FG%/40FG3%
I get the feeling POR or WAS won't want to take on Duncan's money so to get a deal like this done without teams taking on Duncan's contract, I think our outgoing players would have to be something like Herro/Martin/Lowry Exp/Oladipo Exp (72.9mil) Grant or Porzingis would have to take around 28mil in this scenario.
Could throw in Jovic's 2.3mil but can't imagine us doing a 5 for 2 swap.
Thanks. We're in an interesting predicament. I feel like Dame would be a huge addition and fix our scoring as well as Beal but to a lesser extent. I think we'd still have an issue with having the perfect fit next to Bam. KD was basically the perfect player to add. He helped all over holes in one. Size and elite scoring.
Another player out there who's on the block that helps with size and scoring is Towns. I know Butler and him had that falling out but I think they said they patched things up. I feel like KAT hasn't hit his ceiling and could do that here. I think he can be played next to Bam as well. Brings scoring and rebounding. I could see Minny being interested in putting a shooter like Herro next to Ant & Gobert.
I don't see KAT being a possibility. I don't see the allure of Ant and Herro back court. KAT and Jimmy have had issues in the past which I know has been somewhat squashed but I don't think it's to the point where they want to team up again. Also not sure I like him and Bam together. I would prefer a better on ball scorer than a PF star scorer. We need to upgrade at PF but don't think we need someone on KAT's level.
Portland and Miami trade seems to be the most likely. Lillard has expressed interest in Miami, Portland seemingly would want to send him East, Bam/Lillard relationship and on court pairing makes a ton of sense, Money works, Herro and Scoot as a pairing makes some sense for Portland.
Miami and Washington also makes sense. However I could see Washington trying to pivot to Boston trading Beal for Brown as Beal and Tatum have a real good relationship.
The fact Grant was on the Olympic team as well and ended up joining Lillard in Portland makes me wonder if he would also like to follow him should he leave. His skillset offensively seem like exactly what Miami/Spo want to do with their PF in this build. He has the length, athleticism and ability to attack the paint like Caleb and can hit the 3 in the corners like Tucker but also above the break.
That being said I could also see him staying in Portland as he can get paid and still have a large role on the team.
