For me, the most interesting thing is the MPJ contract. Will they try to move it? To a certain degree its going to handicap them moving forward. As a Pistons fan would you trade Bagley + Burks for MPJ? He's a talented player but he's had some serious injury issues and he isn't someone who really can carry a team which is normally what you want out of a max contract player. He put up a very efficient 17.4 PPG this season but you know he won't be getting as good of looks if he went to another team.
Four more years of max money for him. Only $12 million of his final year $41 million is guaranteed unless he becomes an all-star.
A max contract with injury history? Who is going to want that?
I can't imagine a GM looks at MJP and sees him as a asset.
