We're easily passed the debate on whether Jokic is the best passing big of all time. Jokic really has a case for best passer in general if he keeps up the resume and longevity
On a side note: Honestly the gap between Jokic and to a lesser extent Embiid against all active centers are quite sizable that we may be seeing a complete unicorn perfecting their brand of basketball at their prime
I don’t think it’s fair to even compare Jokic to anyone. Technically for me I’ve never seen someone at his size be more talented than him. Not Nowitzki, not Garnett not Pau not even Duncan. That’s why it’s not fair to compare because ultimately he’s up there next to Duncan pushing triple doubles he may be more talented. The winning portion is what’s not fair. I like to think of him as a unicorn much like Chamberlain was or Yao Ming. Yao Ming could’ve been the best center had he been healthy and the same goes for Jokic if he stays healthy. But anything derailing his body shouldn’t take anything away from him the same way Nowitzki is appreciated.
Let me put it this way. In ONE season, I believe he’s peaked harder than any other 7 foot true big man of all time. People wanna say Shaq and Hakeem, but this guy passes to a level that’s beyond the best point guards let alone rebound score. I hope the best for Jokic and personally I don’t mind buying his jersey and becoming a fan of the Denver Nuggets as my favorite West team. It was warriors until Durant joined them and I thought it was gonna be Luka Mavs but Jokic is just on another level.
Appreciate these players, they don’t come around often. Refrain from comparing them to anybody. The same way Lebron was constantly compared to Jordan, just appreciate Lebron for who he is. Don’t worry about who is better. The game is an art and nobody out there is comparing Picasso to Michelangelo Da Vinci and Van Gogh and Dali. These guys have their own legend and their own path, they are unicorns of their generation. The biggest unicorn is probably still Kevin Durant but we’re about to be introduced to a 7’5” Kevin Durant supposedly so we’ll see how it goes.
