This is why the lottery drop was so rough. Even leaving the first pick out of the equation, if you don’t want Scoot or Miller we still lost so much value when we fell to 5th. Ugh.
I imagine they're looking to move BI

Question is are they looking to get Scoot or Miller?

Trey Murphy seamlessly slots into that wing spot for them and the hype around Daniels has been loud.

Obviously he fits in Portland but there's also the salary matching aspect in any trade.

IF traded to Charlotte you'd imagine it's Hayward going the other way

Good to see a tough defensive 4th quarter in Game 5 today and to see KCP & Brown hit clutch FTs to ice it for Denver.

KCP and Bruce Brown earn well deserved championship rings... and Ish Smith and Reggie Jackson get freebies as well. Not to mention former Piston DeAndre Jordan... even though we only bought him out and he never played a game for us.

KCP 2x champ on 2 diff teams is wild. So awesome for those guys. I love Ish's story and I hope Bruce is a Piston again soon.

I'm sure the league will sugarcoat it, but that had to have been the most disappointing Finals for them. Super low ratings, a superstar not interested in branding himself who mostly just wanted to go home (understandable of course), and there's not much of a narrative to go forward. The irony - super fun game to watch, even if Miami needed some whistle assistance. The NBA will be fine anyway.

Like you all said, I'm happy for Bruce Brown. There's a man who figured out what is means to be in the league and did it on the highest level. I always liked KCP as well in Detroit - and you can see how effective he has been in this league when he's your fourth/fifth best starter.

Jokic is an incredible player who may be just starting on a multi championship run. Best passer since Magic? It's possible. Couldn't care less how the league "feels." A lot of people said the league was disappointed last time we were on top as well.

We're easily passed the debate on whether Jokic is the best passing big of all time. Jokic really has a case for best passer in general if he keeps up the resume and longevity

On a side note: Honestly the gap between Jokic and to a lesser extent Embiid against all active centers are quite sizable that we may be seeing a complete unicorn perfecting their brand of basketball at their prime

I don’t think it’s fair to even compare Jokic to anyone. Technically for me I’ve never seen someone at his size be more talented than him. Not Nowitzki, not Garnett not Pau not even Duncan. That’s why it’s not fair to compare because ultimately he’s up there next to Duncan pushing triple doubles he may be more talented. The winning portion is what’s not fair. I like to think of him as a unicorn much like Chamberlain was or Yao Ming. Yao Ming could’ve been the best center had he been healthy and the same goes for Jokic if he stays healthy. But anything derailing his body shouldn’t take anything away from him the same way Nowitzki is appreciated.

Let me put it this way. In ONE season, I believe he’s peaked harder than any other 7 foot true big man of all time. People wanna say Shaq and Hakeem, but this guy passes to a level that’s beyond the best point guards let alone rebound score. I hope the best for Jokic and personally I don’t mind buying his jersey and becoming a fan of the Denver Nuggets as my favorite West team. It was warriors until Durant joined them and I thought it was gonna be Luka Mavs but Jokic is just on another level.

Appreciate these players, they don’t come around often. Refrain from comparing them to anybody. The same way Lebron was constantly compared to Jordan, just appreciate Lebron for who he is. Don’t worry about who is better. The game is an art and nobody out there is comparing Picasso to Michelangelo Da Vinci and Van Gogh and Dali. These guys have their own legend and their own path, they are unicorns of their generation. The biggest unicorn is probably still Kevin Durant but we’re about to be introduced to a 7’5” Kevin Durant supposedly so we’ll see how it goes.

Bill Walton could have been the best. I thought this before this new 4-part documentary, which is pretty good.

Any interest in Tyler Herro?

Was looking into something like Bojan, Stewart and pick 31 for Herro

Would give you guys the ability to draft Hendricks/Walker/Whitmore at 5 or trade down instead of drafting a redundant guard

No, we don't need another scoring guard. We need defense and low usage. Orlando could use him, not us.

With the Wizards trade of Beal and apparent commitment to rebuild, we've officially taken a step out of 15th in the East and now project to be 14th in the East. It will certainly be interesting to see if they have any interest in bringing back Kuzma at any price... or if he will have to go out and get a contract on his own from someone else.... also it will be interesting to see if Porzingas ends up opting in or out of the last year of his deal now that it seems unlikely Washington will want to spend money on him long term.

I don't see how KP doesn't opt in. With his injury history do you realistically see any team giving him that much annually on his next contract?

He is still just 27 years old and just came off a healthy and successfully efficient 23.2 PPG and 8.4 RPG in 32.6 MPG season. If anything, I think given his injury history it makes more sense to opt out now and get a 4 year $100+ million contract even if he takes a bit less money next season to secure the long term bag. His worst case it to take the $30+ million next year and then get injured yet again and have his value tank around the league. This summer, a team would certainly give him $100+ million coming off the season he just had IMO. Perhaps the Rockets if they can't land Harden or Kyrie.

Draymond opts out of his $27.5 million deal with GS to become a FA. Sounds like he wants the long term security of a 4 year $100 million deal or a 3 year $80 million type deal rather than just riding out his last year of his contract.

He’ll opt in, then probably get traded.

Next year is for 36 million dollars; which is a far cry from 30+ that you are trying to minimize it down to. 11 million more than the 25 million annually you are then saying he should then sign his next contract for.

Any GM in their right mind is going to put in protections / opt out clauses in any contract they sign him to given his durability problems up to this point; so I don't see much to gain for him in terms of security of guaranteed money.

You just don't turn down 11 million dollars more / 36 million guaranteed. Heck. The next contract he signs might not even have that much in totality; with most based off of games played requirements, etc.

We keep having these same conversations where very obvious points are glossed over / dismissed entirely. Is it intentional attempts to mislead or just repeatedly not thinking before posting?
