Iso, No.
PnR, No.
Clutch, No.
3pts, No.
FT, No.
I think people just believe in the talent, look at him as a good player that's miscast in a bad situation, and believe he'd be a better player as a #2 or even #3.
He's shown the ability to be both an on and off ball scorer at various times in his career.
And most of all, he doesn't seem physically cooked, and has performed reasonably well in the playoffs.
He's clearly overpaid by a pretty big margin, but if Harden does walk, he seems like the best, and most seemingly gettable player the Sixers can find, and looking at the free agency landscape next year (and the fact that they won't really have any more assets than they do now), I don't really see that changing.
I find his advanced stats not reflecting him to be an allstar even at his peak years at 2019-2021 where he averaged 30ppg in both these seasons.
He can’t be a #1-2 because he is not good on Iso, PnR and in crunch time.
He can’t be #3 because he is not a good 3pt shooter.

Either we win or Biid walks.
We win: Biid buys in and let him cook, then we look unstoppable.
Biid walks: Biid goes tantrum by not getting touches. Poor body language all season.
Nurse would be the key here. I think he mentioned in windy’s podcast that one of his job is to get those two get what they want.

Mik317 wrote:the "appeal" of Beal is the idea that if he isn't the main scoring option it will open up the floor for him. His best shooting years came next to Wall for example. The idea is that he has been miscast as the first option and will thrive moreso as a second or even third. But again that was the same idea for Tobias too.

Damn, Jimmy didn't even have that sway.
