Because people have office jobs and enjoy bantering for sport. I never saw reports including the farm with the pick--just Portland's version of Tyler Herro. I'm just not bending over backwards to dismantle a championship contending core for a guy who used to be the consensus #2 pick in the draft and has slid down as time goes on.
Shocking stuff, I know
You mean a core not good enough tied up with several bad contracts with no viable improvements to be made?
Look if Portland is only offering the 3rd pick and mid at best prospects then yeah obviously Heat are laughing and hanging up. But if Portland is desperate and offers some kind of godfather Rudy Gobert type package then absolutely Bam has a price
Depends what you consider the core. I'm dying for moves to unload Herro and picks to resolve some of the roster imbalances and take this core to the next level

When you see teams that work out more than 25+ guys you better have 3-4 picks in the draft anything above 50 workouts you don't know what you want and have no eye for talent/scouting.
Tells you really there how Miami is really keen on getting the right guys to come in, zero time wasted on fluff workouts.
They also know what they are looking for in terms of fit, and archetype, which makes the list small and concise.

Nice now you’re getting the drift. Everything revolves around trading Herro (great scoring mentality with attitude but would star way better on a different type of team which is why he has good value on the trade market IMO), Lowry, Robinson, and or Dipo expiring while also clearing cap room.
If not it’s just going to be the same as last season sans the unlikely Finals run

Wade
Mourning
Bosh
Hebron
Jimmy
Shoutout to Tim Hardaway

But that's just in a vacuum and without context. No way the Blazers actually would do it first of all. Secondly, I can't see the FO taking that huge of a risk after an incredible playoff run and finals appearance. If it doesn't turn out well, how do you justify it to the fanbase? Yeah, I think its all nonsense.

My man, I didn't just start getting the drift. I'm creating the wake

Don't really think Nuggets are as dominant as they were without Murray. Curry says Hi. LeBron doesn't count in either of our sides because he's a once in a generation guy.
I am just of the breed that #1 option scoring guards are harder to develop, and that's okay. I respect the opinion of those who favor multi-faceted bigs. However, having a multi-faceted big is pointless when your team is tiny around him.greg4012 wrote:A lot of what you're projecting seems to ignore the realities of a salary cap
Which is why I said you must consider trading a max guy AND a bad contract for 2 players on their rookie deal, Simons (which I have said flipping him as he's redundant to Herro), pick 23 and 3-4 MORE 1st round picks.
Allows us to start the clock over on this roster, with the assets to not lose out on stars again.
We'd have
G: Lowry, Herro, Scoot, Sharpe
Wing: Jimmy, Caleb, Highsmith
Big: Jovic
+ whatever you get for Simons + picks 18, 23, and a full collection of Portland's picks moving forward. Plus wiggle room in FA.
Again, not saying it's the best option. Saying because of salary cap (i.e why we don't have Beal) we have to at least go to drawing board and consider.

I could make a case to put Jimmy at 3. Mine would be
Wade
Lebron
Jimmy
Bosh
Shaq
I love Timmy and Zo, that team is when my love for the Heat started, but that combo never won anything, they barely won 1 series. Jimmy hasn’t won anything either, but as the main guy in 4.5 years we’ve been to the finals twice and we’re a shot away from doing it a third time.
