maybe whitmore should have had better attitude and personality if he wants to make more money.

How do u know Neptune is being honest and just doesn't have an agenda against Cam?

Why would he have an agenda against Cam? That makes no sense...

What Neptune said was very likely his honest OPINON. You can't assign malintent to someone just because he has an opinion that differs from yours.

im not saying he does, im saying it's a possibility. because it makes no sense why he would talk him down. even if that was his real opinion most likely scenario is Neptune would be very political about it not to jeopardize future recruiting.

Neptune's job isn't to be honest to NBA teams. His job is to win games at the NCAA level and recruiting plays a huge role in that. If players know that there's a chance that Neptune can hurt their draft stock by bad-mouthing them to teams then it gives them a reason to pick another offer. It's not a given, obviously, but having something like this hang over his head can really hurt his recruiting efforts and that's a big part of being an NCAA coach.

I understand your argument, but I completely disagree with you here.

I'd rather send my kid to go play for a coach that is honest, genuine, and has high morals than a coach that will say whatever they need to to win. It's not always easy, nor quick - but you win in the long run by being honest & genuine.

Your kid doesn't win, though. Making it in the NBA is all about opportunities. The higher a player is drafted, the more opportunities they get to prove they belong. The lower a player is drafted, the fewer opportunities they get.

What Neptune pulled here can directly affect a player's chances to have a career and make a living. It really isn't his place to talk **** about his players.

this is Neptune recruiting class this year: https://247sports.com/college/villanova/Season/2023-Basketball/Commits/

a single non-ranked HS player

does have a couple of decent transfers tho, assuming part of it is because Nova was a complete non factor in recruiting this year and these guys see opportunities for big mins.
