Clips don’t have much to send back to Philly for a win now mode team. Maybe something like Kuz (S&T) + Monte to Philly, Harden to LA, Expirings + 1st round pick to Wizards.

I’d rather get Monte Morris and Wright to Brooklyn. Both would be a real solid fits here.

What would be a realistic offer?

Basically, it appears that Winger/Dawkins only really value draft capital.
How about we give you Morris & Wright plus 2 R2 picks, & you give us 2 R1 picks?

Yep, but maybe 4 2nds for 2 firsts. I kinda like PIFs thinking here since it seems like 3 or 4 teams are interested in Morris & Wright.

Yeah, PIF is on the right track.

If we are looking to trade Morris or Wright for a high 2RP, we are better off throwing in one of our 2RP's into the deal so that we get back a FRP instead. It's time to start thinking about pick quality instead of just pick quantity.

Wiz Kuzma back, I figure our rotation is now:

PG: Jones/Morris/Wright
SG: Poole/Wright/Shamet/Davis
SF: Kispert/Bilal
PF: Kuzma/Deni/PBJ
C: Gaff/Huff/Kuzma

Are we looking to trade Deni? I think he could fetch something interesting.

I hope two from Shamet, Morris and Wright are gone by the start of the season. I think we will see Kispert gone before Deni if any is traded, higher floor less upside.

With FVV gone to Houston & Vincent gone from Miami, I figure those two teams are potential Morris destinations. I figure we get a future 2nd for Monte.

Well somebody's got to be gone -- more than 1 somebody! -- since with Kuz & the 2 draft picks we now have 18 regular roster players with guaranteed contracts! On top of which mhd just added Huff. That would make it 19.

His 13-player rotation leaves out Cooks, Vukcevic, Gill, Gallinari, Muscala & Rollins

Gallinari will be bought out, presumably.
Big changes still coming....

I think the need to increase the size of teams to 17 regular contracts and 3 Two way deals.

Yep. Many of the Winger Dawkins moves started out with people fussing, then later "Oh... THAT"S what that was all about".

Even with 18 players we are tippytoeing on the 90% cap minimum. We will buy out Gallo. Trade one or more of Monte, Shamet, Delon.

We need to pay somebody. We will have to swap out a handful of these players and replace them with tradeable assets or BYOD prospects. But will need to consolidate the $ in 2-for-1 trades to make it work. Things are up in the air for everybody, we will see where it all lands, but who else are we going to pay big $$$ that actually wants to be on a rebuilding team? We would be overpaying someone else's bad free agent. Kuz took less than Grant, Cam Johnson, etc. Relative to this year's market his contract is a slight bargain. And fans in the arena don't hate him. Late game theatrics and occasional hot streaks have made him a fav player of many barstool and barbershop sports fans. As opposed to numbers nerds.

There will be minutes enough for everybody. I neither like nor hate this signing. The only thing I think makes it iffy is that now Kuz is the elder statesman and probable leader of the team. He talks a good game, looks like he is coaching in-game, he just tends to fire all the bullets in his clip in a ready shoot aim manner.

Which means the ball will be out of the hands of Tyus Jones, and clanking off the rim in a long rebound often as not. Good for the tank. But maybe less good for the development of other players. That said maybe now that Kuz has gotten paid he embraces the team leader idea and is more judicious in his shot selection. And if not: we're going tanking anyway.

I'd assume Huff will be on a two-way contract, as will Quenton Jackson. After the Gallo buyout and a Monte trade, we still have to cut two players.

Jones, Wright, Poole, JD, Kispert, Bilal, Kuz, Deni, Vuk, and Gaff are for sure safe.

That leaves Cooks, Gill, Muscala, Rollins, Shamet, Coffey, and PBJ.

Of that list, the obvious cut candidates are Shamet,Coffey, and Cooks. Muscala has a ton of experience which will be valuable, PBJ and Rollins are both young, and Gill is a cheap veteran who could have some moveability at the trade deadline as part of a package. Plus he's one of our longest-tenured players.

Out of Shamet, Coffey, Cooks, Shamet is the best player. I also think that makes him the most obvious buyout candidate, since he's good enough to be in a rotation for a playoff contender. It makes no sense to keep him when he's going to want to play and playing him would just take minutes from the young guys. Then between Coffey and Cooks, I think Coffey has the NBA experience that gives him the edge.

So buyout Shamet and Cooks is my vote. Although maybe Gill or Cooks could be attached to the Monte trade if the team we're sending Monte to needs cheap bodies.

Huff is a 2-way. QJackson a 2-way. Ryan Rollins was on a 2-way at GSW. The new CBA lets teams have 3 now.

PG Jones, Monte, Wright,
SG Poole, Shamet, Davis,
SF Deni, Kispert, Bilal, Cooks
PF Kuz, Vuk?, PBR, Gill,
C Gafford, Muscala,

I'd bet they try to stash Vukcevic if they can. Work a buy-out with Gallo. Which means Anthony Gill could be cut and they'd be at the roster limit. But still under the NBA minimum, looks like to me. Unless Kuz is on a declining contract that frontloads a bigger payout.

Ack, you're right. So then keep Cooks and buyout Shamet.

That’s a bizarre destination. Hope it’s not Bagley.

Looks like we're not getting any players back. Just a future 2nd.

Might be one of the future 2nds the Pistons got for taking on Joe Harris.

I had 9.8 for Monte? And we have a $6.2m trade exception from the Rui trade. Expiring in January.

If we buy out Gallinari it looks like we are about $9m under the cap, with the rookie salary for Bilal but stashing Vuk.
