I’ll consolidate everyone’s posts into the original post sometime this weekend and we’ll make sure everyone is good with how I’ve consolidated before we get into summer league

Would’ve gone Cason at 11 but he was already off the board. So without making a trade up for Cason I probably take Podz as my shooter. Not unhappy with Jett though.

I am with you. Black, Cason, and Suggs would have been a tremendous guard situation. We could have easily interrupted that trade, because Dallas wanted Lively, and that is who I would have taken at 11 if Cason wasn't an option.

6 Black
11 Cason, Lively, Gradey

i don't hate Howard, i have come around to see what they like, but I have to squint. I feel like there is zero chance Wallace doesn't have top 7 production in this draft class, and as much as I like Black, Wallace could easily end up being the better player...

OP updated. Some gave multiple names so I just went with whichever player was available and picked closest to 11.

Wanted Ausar but after he was gone Black was my next choice. Originally I wanted Dick at 11 but when Cam fell I think I would have taken him. Hopefully all the stuff about Jett being injuried most of the year is true and that's why he wasn't as mobile. I'll still support my new guys.

I don't hate our draft. I hate the talent in our draft.

We needed a SG to provide 3pt spacing and a C to defend the rim. Unfortunately, the draft talent didn't align. I didn't even see a pathway to getting that.

So what they did was fine. If may work out or it may not. There's enough there to pin hopes on. Jett was a pet cat of mine early in the season, so it's easy to hop on board. If Black hits 3s like his workout videos, this could be a home run draft.

Based on my true feelings of how I felt when the draft was unfolding, I would've gone Cam Whitmore at 6. At 11, I would've went Jordan Hawkins. Second Round, GG Jackson. But I also start Isaac over Carter since the draft didn't help.

Fultz / Suggs / Anthony
Hawkins / Whitmore / Suggs
Wagner / Whitmore / Jackson
Bachero / Isaac / Bol / Carter
Isaac / Carter / Bitadze

I had players ahead of Anthony Black and Jett Howard on my big board at 7th and 15th respectively.

viewtopic.php?p=107034957#p107034957

However, after #1, I thought there was not much of a gap between talents.

Cam Whitmore and Gradey Dick were both very high on my Board. However, my take The Magic wanted to take two players at different positions (PG, Swing, Big).

They went with the only point guard worth taking that high in Anthony Black which I think was a good pick. With Black and Markelle Fultz having similar playing styles, they can play the same way when one is off the floor. I also like Black as a player so that's a good pick.

At #11, both Whitmore and Dick were still available along with some other wing prospects that I liked.

I wanted others over Jett Howard but I also like Jett as a player.

I'm not mad at The Draft. I actually am very happy with The Draft. Just had a few players higher on my big board.

I would have traded #6 in a package for a vet guard and taken Bufkin/JHS at #11.

Assuming no trades allowed, I'm happy enough with the choice made at 6. I might have shaded towards Walker at 6 and Bufkin/JHS at 11, its a 50:50 call Black vs Walker for me.

Ah got it. Was thinking it was just the wishlist regardless of available or not.

Nope.. you post for infamy the players you would have picked available at that spot instead of what our team picked. That way you can have bragging rights when your player picked kicks the dust off who we picked.

When Black shows out, how many posters will claim they always liked him?

My picks were 6: AB

11: lively

I’ll double-down. Not only did I prefer Gradey (sure as hell not gonna say “not only did I prefer Dick”) but I did not and do not want Howard. Probably 4-5 different guys I would have taken ahead of him.

Black? Nope. Preferred Whitmore, Walker, and others. My only caveat here is with Whitmore - it’s impossible for us to know if he had bad medicals or character issues that caused his slide.

I like him.. I just think Hendricks would be better. In fact I would liked him even more if he didn't make that stupid comment just before the draft.
