If his agent is working the phones that hard, there are a lot of offers, and teams trying to get in this. Nothing is set, I do think whatever Miami could do, or can do, is already sitting on their table. Now its just a waiting game to see who blinks first.

Miami is clearly in the lead, otherwise Portland could have shut this whole thing down by asserting that they would trade him anywhere but Miami.

If this trade goes down, I can not wait to be the villain team again! Bring back those Big 3 vibes.

He has a point if you're looking to maximize "fame" as a player, there are a few franchises that lift you up, but this isn't what Lillard wants, he wants to compete, be a major force for that team competing for a championship but all these national media people bitching about him picking Miami, they were the people who pushed Lillard this ways, talking about how this underdog team just utilized grit and determination to get themselves into the finals... for the 2nd time in 4 years and Lillard just happens to be the offensive piece that Miami needs to possibly get over the hump.

Miami's environment that Riley and now Spoelstra have put in place is exactly why Butler forced his way to Miami and now Lillard is. I may think the FO does some bad moves and maybe they do but they've created an environment that certain players want to be in.

I mean they kind of did, multiple times. Their obviously going to leave some wiggle room for a best case Miami swing at this, not gonna outright close the window of opportunity.

Somehow Miami’s deal is ****, but Boston’s deal with Brogdan/Robert Williams/picks is great

They've seemingly only further opened the Miami door after the initial hardline posturing. More caveats regarding Portland's position. More ceding that Herro can net draft capital.

There's a game of chicken right now with teams weighing worth of offering so much to beat Miami's offer (if Miami gets to 4 FRPs, then other teams need to go 5+) in the face of Dame telling them that he doesn't want to go there and will be difficult (while being 33 years old and a massively paid 36 year old at the end of the deal).

Why not, there is no going back from this. Lillard asking out is of the organization is essentially pitty parade from Ownership whom are dicks based on what I have heard. Chances are they may not even retire his jersey, let alone give him a welcome home tribute video next time he steps on the court in their arena.
