New Himmelsbach just dropped. Looks like we're out of the Dame sweepstakes.

I guess we can now look forward to..*checks notes* Javonte Green and Blake Griffin....

Dame and his agent and the media is really pushing the whole Dame to Miami thing.

Its **** anoying.

Part of me is starting to hope he goes there and after gutting the team for him and they fail bigtime.

I'm leaning towards that too. Wouldn't surprise me to see Stevens and Cronin chatting it up during Vegas summer league, maybe even grabbing a meal afterwards. Facts: Tatum has been recruiting Dame and the ddb Intel. With that much smoke, there has to be a fire.

So in the event that dame lands in Miami I can't imagine a scenario where Miami sends less than: Herro, Robinson, Martin, jovik, and their rook out with Dame and nurkic coming back...... Does that team even scare anyone?

Dame, Butler, Richardson , Nurkic, Bam

Call me crazy but I think we can top that

That would mean they lost strus, martin, Zeller, Vincent, dipo, Robinson, Herro, and jaquez

With Love and Lowry being even older

They just beat us with 8 undrafted players.. So of course they can beat us again.... We still have an idiot coach and they have the best.. That alone counts for a lot.

Disagree on the coach but I'll let that lie.

We get beat by lesser teams with Brad, ime, and Joe. At some point it's on the roster. I am in the minority who thinks clearing out smart will fix a lot of our mental issues

Smart out and the zinger in was a very good move.. But I still do not trust this coach..

Everybody seems to think that there has to be some sort of follow up move, but i think the likeliest outcome here is that the c's are close to done.

Jaylen signs his extension can't be traded for a year. The c's stay below the 2nd apron by not bringing back Grant which cuts down on their tax bill this year and avoids his long term contract on the books next year. The maintain the ability to still go over the 2nd apron using the 6.5ish million dollar TPE they generated if an interesting guy on a rookie scale deal becomes available. They were probably at one point looking to move Brogdon, but with Grant not returning moving getting off his deal this year doesn't really matter all that much, and with Smart gone he's kind of important for guard depth.

Things to watch for:
1) Jaylen's extension: Will it be for full 35%? Or will they be able to negotiate him down a bit? Will it have options, an ETO, ect?
2) Which of the 2nd rounder makes the team? Walsh probably a good bet on a 3+1 with the 2nd round exception. Most guys in the 30's get guaranteed contracts. Beyond that Davidson/Begarin/Yam all options for end of bench or 2-ways.
3) Will they use the tax-MLE? Seems unlikely, hardcaps them and they'd be RIGHT up against the cap with no flexibility as constructed. Not really a lot of free agents left worth doing that for.
4) Do they use TPE? Seems unlikely but possible, would likely put them over 2nd apron. Would have to be for a guy on a rookie or value deal they really like.
5) Veteran ring chasers: Can they get anybody to take the vet min to come here for a title chase? As the market squeezes guys out maybe they get a surprise addition.
