Couldn't imagine why.

Haha I remember you and I being the resident doomers when we drafted Miles 5 years ago.

It has gone wrong, but in ways I would have never guessed. Just Hornets stuff I guess.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I'd love to give him to Houston for Eason and Whitmore for example if Houston thinks he's enough to push them into the playoffs with that roster (and he very well could be)

I know he has a no trade clause but no player in NBA history is not waiving a no trade clause to stay in Charlotte

What are the rules here? If Bridges is traded this season, do his bird rights transfer? I thought they didn't. If not, is it legal for Charlotte to sign him using the bird provision as part of a sign-and-trade next summer?

Not a CBA expert but I believe we do retain his bird rights and if we trade him the acquiring team will get those bird rights.

We definitely could trade Miles for an asset at the deadline if Miles knows he wants out and he wants to go to a team that needs his bird rights to sign him.

I don't think there's any way we offer Miles a near 5 year max with 8% raises (other teams can only offer 4 years with 5% raises I think as we hold his Bird rights).

Would you really want us to max up an arrogant ticking time bomb like Miles with Rich Paul as an agent? That's gross, I'd rather let him walk next year as he's never shown he's worth close to that, not even taking into account his behavioural issues.

I'm not sure if I would or not. Just wondering about if we had an advantage to resign him. I forgot about his other incidents. Also, was Ben Simmons with Klutch, when he refused to play for "mental reasons". Yea, that would be tough to max him.

If he is shooting 33% from 3 mid season, I'm thinking maybe try to trade him. Wonder what teams would be on their list. Lakers, Detroit? Don't want anyone at $7.9m from the lakers. Pistons might have someone on a rookie scale deal that I'd trade for.

He most certainly was. We need to avoid Bitch Paul and his players like the plague moving forward.

“I sincerely apologize for the pain, embarrassment and disappointment that last year’s incident caused so many people,” said Bridges. “Time away from the game allowed me to reflect, immerse myself in therapy and prioritize becoming a better person - someone my family and peers can be proud of. I’m grateful to the Hornets and the NBA community for giving me a second chance - most people don’t ever get one and I understand those questioning whether I deserve one. I will do everything I can to earn back the trust and confidence of my teammates, coaches, the Hornets organization and staff, fans, and the Charlotte community. I’m ready to return to work and can’t wait to rejoin my Hornets teammates.”

"I'll use the Hornets and their fanbase as a testing ground this year to rehabilitate my image, so that I'll be ready for the big markets next year when I sign for big bucks. I decided to give back to the Hornets and show my appreciation by offering my services on a massive discount for the upcoming season"

at long last we get an actual statement from Miles. correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember much of anything like this before today.

words are cheap. he put the appropriate words there, and in an appropriate order. I hope his actions more than back up his words. still have an indigestion type feeling in my stomach about him playing for the Hornets. just being honest.

Ghostwritten by a Klutch attorney I'm assuming.

What a generic copy/paste PR disaster media release.

chatGPT did it better for me:

I am deeply sorry for the actions that have led to my absence over the last year. I now realize the gravity of my past mistakes and the pain I caused. It was inexcusable, and I take full responsibility. I've spent the past year reflecting, growing, and making significant changes to ensure it never happens again.

Violence against women is never, under any circumstance, acceptable. I regret my actions and the hurt I've caused. I'm grateful for the patience and understanding of the fans, my teammates, and the Hornets organization during this period.

As I rejoin my team this season, I am committed to using my platform to raise awareness against domestic violence, to promote education, and to create real change. I will actively contribute to community organizations dedicated to supporting victims and fighting against this issue.

I want to earn your trust back on and off the court. I can't change my past, but I'm fully committed to a future where I can make amends and strive for better every day. Thank you for your understanding and I hope to make you proud in the coming season.

let's be honest, it was always going to be that way. if Miles had actually handwritten something heartfelt it would have been an enormous surprise.

He should've rapped it. Then I'd believe it.

ChatGPT to the rescue:

Spoiler:
(Verse 1)
Listen up, folks, gather 'round real quick,
I got a story 'bout a crime, I'll make you sick.
I embarrassed my team, made a fool of myself,
But this apology? Nah, it's all for show and stealth.

(Chorus)
I'm sorry, yeah, so sorry, for what I did,
But honestly, who cares? I just wanna kid.
I messed up big time, oh, what a shame,
But let's be real, it's all part of the game.

(Verse 2)
I dribbled off court, got caught in the act,
Committed a crime, but hey, it's just a fact.
Embarrassed my team? Well, so did they,
We're a bunch of misfits, what else can I say?

(Chorus)
I'm sorry, yeah, so sorry, for what I did,
But seriously, it's just a stupid bid.
I let my team down, oh, cry me a river,
We're all in this mess, let's forgive and deliver.

(Verse 3)
But don't worry, folks, I promise to change,
As much as I promise to grow wings and range.
I'll earn back your trust, or maybe not,
Who needs it anyway? I'll give it a plot twist.

(Bridge)
To my team, my fans, who may feel betrayed,
This insincere apology is all I've conveyed.
But hey, let's move on, let's brush it aside,
'Cause deep down, we all know it's a hollow ride.

(Chorus)
I'm sorry, yeah, so sorry, for what I did,
But let's not pretend it's a big bid.
I let my team down, oh, what a mess,
But who really cares? Let's all just confess.

(Outro)
So there you have it, my sarcastic rhyme,
This apology's a joke, a waste of time.
I'll keep doing me, no need for remorse,
Life's too short for sincerity, of course.

Note: This sarcastic rap takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to an insincere apology. It intentionally presents a lack of remorse and a dismissive attitude. Please keep in mind that this is purely fictional and for entertainment purposes.

Good to see him back with the team, he really is one of our better draft stories before the incident. Hopefully he really has seen the light and will be a better person. LaMelo, Miller and Miles is a really solid 3 with guys with upside surrounding them in Mark, NSJ and hopefully PJ.
