I think the Vegas part of it is cool. People will go to watch. I just can’t picture players playing as hard as a playoff game. Probably be more like an all star game where they don’t get serious until the very end.
I would be extremely surprised if players care that little. The all star games basically aren’t even basketball at this point. I would expect slightly more competitive than a usual regular season game in the group stage games and very competitive but not playoff level intensity in the knockout games.

Yeah I think one thing we consistently underestimate is the baseline interest of professional basketball players in competing and winning regardless of context. Like, we don't need to worry about these guys wanting to play basketball or win games. That's pretty much their whole deal.
I think teams will win against teams that they should beat but when guys come up against guys like Smart or Grant Williams, etc that back into your knees to box you out for rebounds and generally play borderline dirty physical play some guys will fold because it’s a meaningless trophy
