If we are sticking with the core then **** - go get the guy who fits next to the core. GTJ/Boucher/Flynn fits in the trade checker.
In theory this works, with some salary additions needed.
To Toronto: Harden/Herro/Kris Murray
To Philly: GTJ/Boucher/Flynn/Precious
To Miami: Dame
To Portlan: Barnes/Robinson/Thad/OPJ
Harden/Schroder
Herro/Dick
OG/Murray
Siakam/McDaniels
Poeltl/Koloko
Only part I hate is Herro.
Harden is worth like Trent Jr. - Boucher - Precious - Thad/OPJ tops. if not then it's an easy pass.
That is essentially all the deal is.
GTJ/Barnes/salary filler for Harden/Herro. Picks can be swung whichever way to balance out the deal.
Say whatever you want, but Harden/Herro/OG/Siakam/Poeltl is a championship caliber 5.
[quote"mademan"]This leaves a financial mess with Herro being paid 30mill/year and all of OG/Siakam/Harden looking for 30-50 mill. It's just not realistic. Harden would be a rental for us, so trading Barnes for him+ is just a non starter.[/quote]
Yeah that is completely fair. Salaries would be a bit of a pain, although I am not sure it is as big of a deal as you think. Miami for example has Butler at 45M, Bam at 33M, Lowry at 30M, Herro at 29M, and Robinson at 18M.
We could end up with Siakam at 48M (if he signed a 4/192 right now), Herro at 29M, OG at say 30M, Poeltl at 20M, and Harden at 25-30M. That is pretty comparable to Miami.
Going after Harden is a debate-able move, but IMO if you go after Harden you might as well double down and get a core that fits.
