Is 2k23 any good? Last one I played was probably 2k20 but have given up.
My main problem is that pick and roll and pick and pop is too easy. Everyone is Boban defending it. Can get a shot most of times.
I actually found shooting timing too hard, so I played with real percentages shooting. That way its actually better, more balanced as in the past, mastering green release was too easy. But you can't make any fadeaways, game still rewards size over skill, unbalanced and unrealistic, very hard to hit contested shots of any kind, and I played with sliders a ton, I played so much of this game, i really need to handicap myself against PC big-time. Default slider game is for beginners only imo, you need to keep adjusting it for yourself.
And of course regular pure stupid programming where some shots are still hundred percent success rate while some are zero percent success rate. Still freaking impossible to miss a wide open lauyp or hit a foul court heave, it doesn't even have animation to play out in different way, it's asinine design.
Still no off hand strength, which in reality is like at least half of basketball. In game, every player equally good with both hands. No such thing as off ball movement skill, footwork, ability to handle double and so for.
Game does improve but same changes are lateral at best and maybe actually a regression. Previous games had better pick and roll defense, they took AI double teaming entirely, since double teaming was slow, unrealistic, anticipant and easy to handle, so instead of fixing they just took it off from ai repertoire. I really notice no changes when I Have guy in game with ten points or fifty, sadly ai doesn't adjust much,
Bottom line. Best I can say, better basketball sim simply doesn't exist, settle or die alone.
