They're basically adding tiers you can pay every month to get extra rewards...Boosts etc...

So there are different tiers....Highest one is HOF tier in which you pay around 20 bucks a month to get maximum rewards....It's basically money grabbing scheme in it's lowest form there to attract the younger audience who'll undoubtedly be all over this.

So they raised the VC price to upgrade your player in 2K23 to something absurd and now this season pass crap....Gaming has really gone down the **** when it comes to online play.

If you think that is bad. You should check out mobile games. I know of people spending thousands a month on a game. Crazy

Lost hope when I found out they sunset the MyCareer in 2k20. Thought it was a single player campaign which I could play anytime I want, but nope.

You get less entertainment long-term from a movie visit. I could probably go on and on.

pretty much this. Variety gamers get hit harder but those who play 2 to 3 games a year. This is fine.

Most of us are working by now as their causal player base as aged they know we can afford it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Is 2k23 any good? Last one I played was probably 2k20 but have given up.

My main problem is that pick and roll and pick and pop is too easy. Everyone is Boban defending it. Can get a shot most of times.

I actually found shooting timing too hard, so I played with real percentages shooting. That way its actually better, more balanced as in the past, mastering green release was too easy. But you can't make any fadeaways, game still rewards size over skill, unbalanced and unrealistic, very hard to hit contested shots of any kind, and I played with sliders a ton, I played so much of this game, i really need to handicap myself against PC big-time. Default slider game is for beginners only imo, you need to keep adjusting it for yourself.

And of course regular pure stupid programming where some shots are still hundred percent success rate while some are zero percent success rate. Still freaking impossible to miss a wide open lauyp or hit a foul court heave, it doesn't even have animation to play out in different way, it's asinine design.

Still no off hand strength, which in reality is like at least half of basketball. In game, every player equally good with both hands. No such thing as off ball movement skill, footwork, ability to handle double and so for.

Game does improve but same changes are lateral at best and maybe actually a regression. Previous games had better pick and roll defense, they took AI double teaming entirely, since double teaming was slow, unrealistic, anticipant and easy to handle, so instead of fixing they just took it off from ai repertoire. I really notice no changes when I Have guy in game with ten points or fifty, sadly ai doesn't adjust much,

Bottom line. Best I can say, better basketball sim simply doesn't exist, settle or die alone.

I bought every single NBA 2K game since the Sega Dreamcast back in 99.

This is may be the first one I skip. I spend probably 90% of my time playing my career and playing online and the city or the park or whatever they're calling it this year.

And I will admit it I like playing mypark so I'm one of the idiots that is enabling visual concepts by purchasing VC to speed up the process. I just don't have the time to sit there for 10 hours a day and grind my player so I can be competitive.

At this point I can't, in good conscience, support them anymore.

$100.00 for the game (I don't buy games very often so I mostly get the $100 versions)

$180 for the season pass ($20.00 x 9 seasons)

$50-$100.00 in VC (it depends on how impatient I get with the grind how much money I will spend)

Total between $330 and $380.00

Single player still rules.

I get the fun playing with friends, but NBA is so bad with 5 humans, controlled bodies runnng everywhere, game always had that floaty weightless on ice controls, and it really shows with more than one human player on team,

These modes should just be free to play while offline modes should be given new care and be seperate games entirely. Like Halo.

Never been online multiplayer guy, I can only feel sorry for those who are. Personally I love sports for simulation aspect, and I also love very slowm dad like strategy games. After 20 years, I rediscovered something called - Football manager... My god, I feel like Futurama Bender - friends, I have found religion... Also purchased Baldurs gate 3. So want to play something, but I am in a hospital for a long time, at least I have tablet..l

My brother played football manager before and it got so addicting he took the CD out and destroyed it

And then bought another FM like a month later.

I must’ve put a few thousand hours into FM since I discovered the game when FM06 came out. Good times

I'm still trying to figure this out, the season pass are just boosts right? I know 2K23 had "seasons", I believe 9 of them that lasted 6 weeks. If you don't pay for the season pass, are you then stuck on Season 1 forever or?

A battle pass doesn’t look good with 2k but you don’t have to buy it if you don’t want I’m already not paying no more than $10 for the game

Not sure what it is exactly that’s what I’m assuming as well. Yes there’s 9 seasons, not your not stuck on season 1 forever, the passes are optional to speed up the process.

You don’t need a season pass to hit lvl40 if you’re a daily player. The $20 pass is completely unnecessary. The $10 one returns almost as much VC as just buying VC, plus a bunch of other rewards. Don’t do it if you aren’t a VC buyer anyway, but it honestly seems like better value for the VC buyer types.

It’s still shady, grifting idiots for more money, but it is hardly necessary if you’re a “I’m paying $70 up front and that’s it” type.

There was a morbidly obese elderly woman I used to work with who got addicted to mobile games. She stopped paying electric, her car got impounded, etc. she’d bring a duffle bag to work every Monday filled with iPads and tablets to charge them off free electric. She had a coworker drive her in.

She was probably making 120-140K per year and those games ruined her.
