You always get NBA money, foot in the door to then earn possibly even more cash. No one in basketball comes close to NBA contracts hense several exceptions at the most. Also do not forget he plays for Jordan, he looks great, but any el guard would be superstar on that team, just like Mitroglunis their superstar center.
NBA vet minumim for 6 years in the NBA, like he has is $2,528,233. That's gross, so federal taxes, state taxes, local taxes, agent fees, union fees, retirement fees, all come out of that.
Usually the sports agencies consider it 60% for NBA teams that play in states without a state income tax and 63% for the teams that play in states with the state income tax. So we are talking about something like $900,000 US dollars net. Just about any decent rotation player in EuroLeague is making that much or more.
NBA players are not paying 63% of their take home on taxes and agent fees. It’s less than 50.
And are you saying that European players don’t have taxes or fees? Isn’t the highest paid Euroleague player making like 4m a year before taxes?
For all of the deductions, all the taxes, all the player deduction fees, and the agent fees. It's around 60% for players on teams in states with no state income tax, and about 63% for players on teams that have state income taxes.
The contracts in EuroLeague are listed by the net amount, the amount the player gets after all of that.
In EuroLeague, if a player is like somewhere between like the 5th to 10th player on a team, they usually make somewhere around 900K to 1.2 million net a year. The 1-4 best players on teams usually make a lot more than that, in the $2.5 million to $5-6 million in net income range.
This isn't true for all of the teams, on a few of the clubs with smaller budgets, the highest paid players are usually more in the $1.2 million to $1.5 million net range.
But keep in mind these are the net income salaries. So if he was just an average rotation player in EuroLeague, he could make around the NBA minimum, or even more than that.
