If anything, it's the biggest value in the world

What in the hell is a venti iced coffee and why in the hell is it 6 bucks? Last time I was at starbucks, 2 months ago, I ordered a large coffee and it was under 3...

 it is 6 bucks because it’s the largest cup, it’s a Starbucks brand and because it is delicious, is it overpriced? somewhat but that’s how the world works.

Still doesn't explain why it's twice the price of a black coffee...for ice? Which is freaking WATER!

I don't know how else to explain it to you, yes it is water which is formed as ice, but you have to include the other things I mention to see why it's twice the price.

I mean I had an ice coffee there once. Don't recall the price, but there was nothing special about it vs a regular coffee other than ice, at least how I had it made. Maybe I paid more? I really don't remember, I just recall it was over 90 out and I had just walked 5 blocks into the office in a suit and the idea of drinking hot coffee sounded horrible.

I’m going to be starting a new thread on this. Sounds like we have 3 right now. It will be next gen…hopefully we can get 27 more people and have an active dynasty league for this upcoming season!!!

Counterpoint: its not hours of entertainment, its hours of frustration because the game makes you jump through a bunch of hoops doing useless tasks like rapping, fashion shows, and practices for VC and XP because your guy is so trash for the first half of his rookie season, and thats the only way to (slowly) improve. The only solution to avoid all of that is to spend even more money from the jump, and by then you're looking at least a $100 investment just for a mid myCareer experience. For my money, I would rather just wait a couple months and find something else to play in the meantime. That's just my take though.

Counterpoint: if you’re going to play a my career mode, and you start of as a bench player,6th man or even a starter, there’s are the type of things most players do during the season and in the offseason, now obviously if you don’t like it you can upgrade by purchasing VC’s to upgrade faster. In a way I totally understand your point, though if you want to be realistic this is how it is in the real world of pro sports.

If they want to do it that way where your role on a team isnt defined yet, I understand. My issue is that (I believe) they start you at a 65 rating, regardless of draft position and theres just no way someone that lousy would ever make it onto an NBA roster. As a result, it takes hours and hours of slow grinding and walking through a massive city to ever even become borderline playable, unless of course youre willing to drop another $40 on top of the initial investment.

I get that its a business, but the overreliance on microtransactions has made 2k a cesspool for the most part. It wouldnt even be so bad if they would at least put some effort into the offline modes, but of course they wont because those dont make them any money,

But they have, especially last season, the effort shined through with my era’s, I can 100% agree that in some areas of certain modes it has become a cesspool, I think as another member said for what people spend there money on, $70 usd is really not much for hours upon hours of entertainment.

I always been on PC, but started modding 2k just after this thread was made. I have 2k23, yeah, I will not buy next game now for sure. I am still very engaged with current my league campaign, sliders that I have been adjusting for a year, readjusting all that to a new game thats basically just a carbon copy anyway, F that.

With mods, Simmons girl, I now only have Wemby and Scoot, I even found amazing mod for Azuolas Tubelis, he looks amazing. New courts, new jerseys, visual improvements etc....

Editing tool for this game is game changing for freak like me, because in my campaign, I just replaced generic head coach free agents with Dirk, Duncan, battier, Diaw, Rajakovic, Stackhouse, JJ Redick, Becky hammon, I added Vlade as FA AGM, just in case, you can edit their coaching play styles, abilities, everything.
I just could not find good looking Darius Songaila and Vasilis Spanoulis or Prigioni face mods, so cant add them to coaching pool. but yeah, F that yearly scam, I buy the game when they really made significant improvements, like add off hand strength finally, softness skills, footwork, when they balance overpower size problem etc... NBA2k24 or even 25 wont do that I guarantee you that, its just a roster update, and with mods, I have that for free.

It's the same game as 2k19. No new classic teams added to Play Now Online.

So glad I didn't waste my cash.

Because their current model brings in more money. Release game, people spend $$$ on myteam and mycareer in addition to the base price, and then do the same the following year. People lose all their progress between games and pay microtransactions all over again.

after playing the game, i think it is actually better than 2k23. gameplay is much smoother and i have to admit pro play is better than the videos suggest. some players look and feel super realistic in terms of movements. booker is one of them. looks like they're tapping into that next gen potential finally.

I only buy 2k once every 3-5 years.

It's really hard giving them money yearly when it's literally just the same game every year with maybe one or two new features.

Bethesda hasn't published a great game since Fallout New Vegas...And even that one wasn't Bethesda but Obsidian i believe.

It looks like fallout 4 but in space.

Well, Bethesda the publisher, publishes good games, but Bethesda the game studios, is different thing. AS you said, New Vegas wasnt theirs, and their gave Obsidian 18 months to make, can you imagine the nonsense. I believe that game reused Fall out 3 assets sure, but to write and make a game, especially so non linear with so many branching stories, it is ridiculous it was made in 18 months.
SKYRIM and Starfield took Bethesda like 6 years, at least?

I always had love and hate relationship with Bethesda games. Like SKYRIM. I can see why most people love it and say it is one of the goats. I love open world and how dynamic it is, NPCs just doing their thing, very little scripted bullcrap, leveling system is amazing. I love all the mechanics like alchemy, enchanting etc. I love that you see a guy, you can loot everything he has till the trousers, not some random drop chances he drops some item.

But... other things, are so inept sometimes. Constant loading screens, graphics of their game is always outdated, ANd what kills me is their NPCs. THey built lore for sure, but NPCs that boss you around are so shallow imo. SKYRIM is podcast game, because I dont care what any of these people saying, they might as well just be cardboard cutouts, and their character and quest design is so inept at hiding the fact that you basically just going back and forth from place A to Place B like a moron. Like, yes, every game is like that, but they hide that fact. Like compare SKyrim to Witcher 3. Yes, Witcher 3 will make go from place A to place B, slay something, then comeback. But it is written and presented so much better, you really believe you doing something important. In SKYRIM, I just play, it can be addiicting, but at the end, I realize I dont give a F about anything, I just following that marker of theirs.

I found it funny that I complained about it for years, and fanboys alwways called me stupid. But then Bethesda came and made Fallout 76, which is to me, a blatant addmition, that they never themselves thought NPCs are important, its a sandbox game with just lore, all of their games was nothing more but that IMO.

That said, I will stay try Starfield, it does look a bit interesting, I dont care about AI generated garbage empty space, but I will give them a chance, because I like Bethesda RPG mechanics still. But I still have Baldurs Gate 3 to boot up.
