Ah, the JD/DJ dilemma! I hope DJ gets that 3rd 2-way, but it seems odd to have 3 similar players use up that spot. All three have strengths and weaknesses, but from what I've seen, Steward may have the highest upside. Better passing than Scrubb, more offense than Davison. Stewart is undersized, but not small. He has decent length. Will be 22 at start of season and it looks to me that he needs to get stronger to hang in the nba.
If he can fill out more like a Scrubb -- or a Tyrese Maxey maybe is a better comparison -- he could be a real keeper. Just not sure if it can be done this season. The talent is there.
Steward I think was much better in SL than JD. Sure, JD is more of a PG and Steward is more of a 2. But the question is, does JD really have a chance at ever getting meaningful minutes for Boston? They might be giving JD one more shot to prove himself in camp/preseason. But if Steward is better, he may get that spot instead.
We don't necessarily *need* a PG in that spot. We already have White, Brogdon, Pritchard and Banton who can play PG. Plus Tatum who frequently brings the ball up the floor and gets us into sets. JB does that too sometimes..
I think JD, DJ and Scrubb are essentially battling for 2 of the 2-ways (doesn't make sense imo to have all 3 of them on 2-ways) with a small chance that 1 of them could emerge in camp/preseason to snag that 15th standard roster spot. I am thinking that last roster spot probably goes to a forward/center type, though..
